Hey Everyone the NRL have taken down about 40 seconds of this video at around 12:36 mins into the video I have provided the information that was removed here for context thanks guys "Many pundits had again played down Melbourne’s chances as the new rule changes that would speed up play were predicted to clash against the wrestling tactics the Storm had introduced into the NRL. Although a fair assumption at the time it was almost ignorant to play down a side that had consistently innovated and had not missed a finals series in a decade. The storm would play their consistent and ruthless style of footy led by their leader Cameron Smith who was potentially playing in his final year. The Storm would have to deal with covid lockdowns which meant relocating to Sydney and then to Queensland where they made the sunshine coast their home for the 2nd part of the season."

I had been an Eels supporter since the early 80's and have been on that roller-coaster of ups and downs with the club and had decided to give them one more year before going to the Tigers..and then the Storm appeared..and with that, a roster of names that caught my eye.. Fast forward to seasons end, the Storm empressed me with their mix of Senior and unwanted players that other clubs overlooked or deemed troublesome..along with a style of play similar the the Dogs of War of the mid to late 80's..

Bloody legendary doco mate , as a supporter from day one storm supporters have lived through the worst scrutiny availed to them and we still back them as a true supporter should , extra money doesn't make a player play better , there is still aspects of wrestling in footy and always will be, storm are a powerhouse and I project 4 more premierships after 2023

The NRL needs a abit more class when it comes to great docos about the sport, seasons and clubs...you might be the man to start good trend.. Do yourself a favour, there is a couple of great short documentaries that might give you some inspiration...🍁🤩 They are both called 'DONT BELIEVE IN NEVER' one is about the Richmond football club and the other is about West Coast Eagles Grand final win... Now I'm not trying to sell you AFL, what I AM selling you tho is the stark difference between the two leagues in terms of sports presentations... Maybe you could bring some of that to the NRL.. Classy well made, well presented, well researched documentaries... I grew up with rugby league but I'm also a huge fan of Aussie rules.. The AFL seems to do alot of things better than the NRL and one of those things is bringing great moments to life.. You might get alot from watching these presentations.... Please do.. they wouldn't be able to retain everyone though by paying there players only half of what they were worth on the books like theres a reason GI was let go immediately and its not cause they didn't want him. I don't think they shouldve had there titles stripped but maybe they couldve had a different punishment like had a reduced salary cap or something for a few years.

Again Storm didn't go out and buy Lockyer and Thurston and Hodges and Civoneceva and win a premiership, they scouted, developed, and produced some of the greatest players of all time themselves.

@@bigdaddy4294 The storm are always the best at developing young talent but it doesn't mean that its not cheating because it was in house guys. The problem was that they had 4 star players that they weren't paying market rate on and it meant they were able to still keep experienced players. Its still an unfair advantage and clearly cheating. when you dont have to lose players to other teams thats just unfair when litterally every other teams playing under different rules. Obviously talent isn't the only thing that matters but its alot easier to stay good when you have to pick which of your players you want to keep. Look at the cowboys or tigers who lost some of the best players in the nrl because they wouldve had to go over the cap to match offers. If the storm had to pay market rate they undoubtedly wouldve had to make more tough decisions about players as other clubs obviously want to snatch up players from such a good team. like seriously though imagine if the storm didnt have GI for that period of time and they were constantly losing experienced glue guys to competing teams. I think the storm were run well enough that they might have won nearly just as much or maybe they would have had to let smith go because they weren't able to pay on the cap half of what other teams were offering him like its a conversation atleast y know.
