Here's a really out the box thought, what if Hollywood actually came up with some original ideas instead of just remaking everything.......

Shawn Tetlow Fair point. In the same way a cover can crush the original, a reboot can - and has - done the same thing. The way Hollyrock works is that they need a certain amount of ‘safe bets’, and reboots/remakes fit the bill. If people didn’t see them, they won’t get remade. Surely you remember the Car 54 Where Are You and My Favorite Martian reboots, do you not. And when a reboot or remake is well done, it’s extremely satisfying.
@robrobb

Everyone always pipes in with "Why doesn't Hollywood come up with original ideas etc blah blah blah" Well they do and they rarely make money. Hollywood is a company and company's are about making money. Midsommar and Hereditary are some of the original ideas and yet made no money in comparison to sequels, some reboots and remakes. While I wholeheartedly agree that Hollywood should take risks they know what works so they won't risk it...

One of my all time favorite shows. What made the show was the chemistry that Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula had. It was also one of the few shows where Bakula could do things like dress in drag or as a monkey or a dog, and it wasn’t done for laughs. A reboot would NEED to have that chemistry between the two leads or it just wouldn’t work.

If I were to choose, I would suggest, The Ghost and Mrs Muir, Topper, The Saint (series not the movie), MASH, and, more recently, Firefly. I'd like to see that, too - but Disney would never make such a dark movie again, sadly. And nowadays, if they did, it would have a cloying happy ending to please the crybabies. The black hole would have an accretion disc around it, but, as they glow white hot, it would not look as evil as the original.

Yeah I don't think they ever made an actual board game of it. They might have later on when the movie with Robin Williams came out, but originally, it started out as a book. I read it in second grade. I remember coming into class one morning and my teacher had decorated the room up like an African jungle with cutouts of lions and other animals on the walls. ALF would be short. A panning shot of a series of Formaldehyde jars, each holding a small bit of ALF. At the end of the last episode, he was eventually captured by the US forces who had been looking for him throughout the series, and it was stated several times that if he was found, he would be experimented on. It was pretty dark for a kids' show, but that last episode showed him being taken away - and that was it. In the 'Buffyverse', Cordelia is dead. Wesley. Dead. Anya. Dead. Angel and Spike? Probably died again fighting a huge demon army. As there are now millions of Slayers around the world, instead of just Buffy, there's not a lot of point bringing it back - and rebooting something so perfect would be an insult to fans, honestly.

1) Roar. Great show with Heath Ledger. 2) Cat and the Canary. Fun movie. Would be better now with new fx. 3) Legacies. GREAT SHOW. One of my faves. 4) WKRP in Cincinnati 5) Touched by an Angel 6) Kung Fu 7) Welcome Back Kotter 8) Alice 9) Barney Miller 10) 8 is Enough 11) Ray Bradbury Theater 12) Six Million Dollar Man 13) Bionic Woman 14) Twilight Zone 15 Fantasy Island with Peter Dinklage or Warwick Davis. Or both. Why not?? I think 15 is enough right now. I'll have to think about this some more and see what would make a good reboot.

IMHO, none of these need to be rebooted, remade, or whatever. They have been made. They are classic TV and movies. It is time for Hollywood to come with some new. Most remakes and reboots are awful. George

I'm definitely up for a reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's still one of my all time favorite shows that I watch often. It would have to be done right and I would hope that they would bring back some of the original cast, exspecially Allison H as Willow, but a reboot definitely has the potential to be awesome! I'm actually surprised that they haven't already done a reboot of Buffy. It's definitely time.

in its release in 1996, Twister's CGI was great, if not awesome. I have often wondered how the "I can't talk now, we have cows" scene with the truck wash or the final tornado scenes would be like if made today. Unfortunately, they would have to recast Bill Paxton. The chemistry between Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton may be hard to replicate. I would go the the theater to see the remake.

Labyrinth: ALL HAIL JARETH, the GOBLIN KING Clockwork Orange: Don't you dare even consider touching Clockwork Orange. Hollywood will either turn it into a self analyzing guilt laden childhood flick or some how add a love theme in there somewhere. Blame it on the koolaid Quantum Leap: That be a hard one to bring back either way. Technically, if Sam Beckett was to return to his own time frame, it would appear to everyone the experiment was a failure except to him and Al, since he did not exist in the future once he entered the machine. As for that last episode, that was so far "left field" us diehards had trouble accepting it.

The goblin king was my first crush. The lore is that the Goblin king had a love named Sarah who was abused by her step mom and forced to care for her baby brother. Gk didn't age but Sarah got old and died which made the Gk go crazy and start kidbapping sad Sarah's with baby brothers all the goblins were former little brothers. All the other Sarah's got old and died. Its better when you know the whole story.

Yes, The Brady Bunch, but this time, Mike and Carol welcome a new Brady Baby into the family. Also, The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. Ashley is fashion designer. Hillary is a broadcaster on a major television network. Will and Carton start their own law practice, with Jazz as their law clerk. Nicky is in college. Aunt Viv runs a bed and breakfast, with Geoffrey as her consierge. Lastly, not so much a reboot, but adding a well loved character to the cast of CSI. Steve Urkel, no longer a geeky nerd, but a respected crime scene investigator, the one who's called when the others just can't figure things out. Kind of like how the Lou Grant character made the transition from comedy to drama.

I think the reason Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a little erie was because the children of Ian Fleming wanted their father to write something other than a spy novel and that his children would enjoy. That's right, Ian Fleming, the author of all the James Bond novels wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and that's why there are some 'spy' gadgets such as a car that can speed through the water and fly.

It may seem an odd choice to some, but I think The Breakfast Club is ripe for a remake. Besides keeping with themes of rich vs. poor and popular vs. outcast, an update of the 35-year-old classic could also delve into issues such as bullying, sexual identity, and even the limitations of the core curriculum. With a realistic and relatable script, an even mix of comedy and drama, and a handful of talented young actors, a new Breakfast Club could help a lot of kids by giving them something honest to identify with and showing them that they’re not alone.

@@m56214 I disagree. While many of the teens' issues are timeless, there's always an opportunity to put a new spin on them. Besides, I think the idea that a remake can ruin an original is ridiculous. If you see a remake of any movie and don't like it, just don't bother to see it again. Pretty simple. It can't affect the impact of the original just by existing for God's sake.
