Hey Mike I don't know if you actually read these and respond but if you do I just want to let you know that I am glad you are back. I truly get up everyday and look forward to seeing if you have posted a new video. I have cancer and I am going through all of the chemo and radiation therapy and all that stuff so it is very draining for me to do a lot of stuff. The one thing that I am able to do without using a lot of energy is watch KZbin. So you put a smile on my face and I really enjoy your videos. One of the most interesting jobs I ever had was bartender at the Sea World San Diego Anheuser Busch Hospitality Center. My main function was drawing samples of Anheuser Busch products for visitors and guest. Another duty was making sure that people who already had their two sample per day limit didn't try to get more samples by returning to the Hospitality Center later in the day.

My strangest job was "Final Resting Place Engineer". Yes that's right, I was a grave digger. No, we did not use shovels, we used a small backhoe, no getting into said graves required. The backhoe we used was specifically designed for the job and was only 2.5 feet wide with very soft tires that would not tear up the grass when in motion. The top priority of the job was Respect.

**meekly raises hand** I actually do enjoy smelling sheets of paper. HOWEVER, it has to be those brown paper towels that you find in some public restrooms. I don't think any other paper towel hits the same way. I know no one cares but I have a theory for why this is the case. I also like the smell of cardboard, and it smells similar to cardboard, so maybe those paper towels are actually super thin pieces of cardboard. Probably not but that's my only explanation for that.

#25: as kids we would take our canoe over to the golf course. One hole was right on the lake so we get out and pick up balls that landed in the water. We would then sell them to the club for their driving range. More fun and paid better than picking up returnable bottles.

One of the MANY MANY jobs my dad did was wrangling the snakes that the snake milker's milked. He went on snake hunting trips to find new snakes for the medical university where we lived. They taught how to milk snakes as part of their curriculum.

Not a job, but at one time, I volunteered as a cat comforter at a shelter. Cats can get really freaked out and even quit eating while living in a shelter. My job was to pet them, talk to them, cuddle them, and encourage them to eat.

You missed out sagger makers bottom knocker. A sagger is a sand mould used to make ceramics, making them is a very skilled job. After they have been used a somewhat less skilled person is employed to turn the sagger over and knock the sand out from the bottom, hence a sagger maker's bottom knocker.

Whenever I'm at someone else's house, I like to twist their bread bag closed in the opposite direction than it was originally. That way, the next time they try to open it, they end up temporarily closing it more. Just felt like sharing that.

I had a summer job as a contract night-watchman, back in the 1970s. I can't say it was fun, but it sure was interesting, especially that 3:00 am wind. (That's "wind" as in to wind a mechanical watch, not "wind" as in a stiff breeze.) The creepiest location was an old run-down paper mill in southern NH, during its 2-week maintenance shutdown. The lowest levels were almost cavernous, I could hear the rats scurrying under cover as I made my rounds; and I was dive-bombed by bats in a nearby maintenance shed. As if that weren't enough, the guy I relieved at the end of his shift was a closeted gay (1970s, remember) who took a shine to me & more than once made unwanted advances.....

@@echognomecal6742 First of all, the allusion to winding a wristwatch was only to clarify the pronunciation - just in case there was any confusion about that. As to what made the 3 am wind the most interesting, it was mostly the effects of imagination. Nothing tangible, but the crumbling walls in the basement level, the sparse, naked light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, the looming machinery and their shadows... very creepy. I did take some pics, BTW - but they're on 35mm slide film. This was a good 30 years before digital photography.

I'd never heard it before either, but I was able to make sense of it then because I was hearing it in context. If you'd heard me SAY it, you'd probably have picked it up right away. Maybe I should have spelled it "wynde" - but that looks like something out of Chaucer.....

I don't know if it's the truth or not, but I have heard that there's a job where your paid to hold new babies. The thing is most of these babies are born premature or really sick and the job involves spending hours holding these tiny babies. Which is also something I could do.

I used to be a church organ builder years ago. Mostly tuning and restoration typevwork. Some new jobs, from beginning to end, can take well over a year. I've spent 2 years on one job. I believe the organ in the Albert Hall in London, took nearly 4 years to complete. Even after theat, it will still need regular tuning and maintenance.

I work in the office of an amusement & water park. We have professional mermaids every season. They make GOOD money! But it's not as easy as it sounds. They have to be able to swim in costume underwater with their eyes open and smiling. Their movements above water are restricted yet they entertain little kids by playing with them, face painting, etc. They also have to go from area to area via a "water wagon". LOL but it's all true and kids love them!

In the 90’s I was a “live good girl” in a reptile shop. Basically I was someone who pre-killed snake food like mice and rats…..I also milked snake venom for a while for hospitals as well and caught and relocated poisonous snakes from populated areas too

When I watch forensic files, we talk about all these different experts, such as blood spatter and fingerprint which I guess are fairly common you think about it, in terms of solving a crime. But then there’s some of these experts and you just wonder how did they come about their particular area of expertise like we had this doctor that is an expert on a pizza bite, and they used how the bite was taken out of a piece of pizza to solve a crime. Like really??? How did you come across your particular area of expertise? But seeing these jobs you don’t wonder anymore

Golf Club Grip Maker. Using a rubber mold injection machine. Which is creates an enormous amount of heat. Add that to living in the Phoenix Metro area, and that is the reason I only did that job for a couple months during the summer before I quit.

The paper towel sniffer sounds absurd, but it really isn't. I have asthma and copd. My earliest indication that a really bad flair up is about to start is that smell or paper towel and the like, make me start coughing or make it hard to breathe. I've learned that there have been some cheap brands where the manufacturers do not follow production protocols and mix in things or cut corners that results may be harmful. When I was a kid, my mom was a bus driver. There was a restroom at a rest station that bus drivers and truckers frequented. At one point, drivers were constantly experiencing delays after stopping at that rest stop. With the same symptoms; feeling faint, l dizziness., trouble breathing, ect. After an investigation they found a couple other rest areas where the same issues had arose. The culprit: the brown paper towels. The company that supplied the rest ares had switched to a super cheap product. The paper towels were emitting a fume that was hazardous, especially when building up in an enclosed space. The person who had taken over the route of rest stations was took an over stock approach and had been leaving a 'wall' of the paper towels in those rest stops.
