I've had the tech 7 for 2 seasons and I have a hole in one boot and missing a mounting point for the strap on another and the inside grip layer is also almost completely gone. Super comfortable just not enough durability for the price you pay

I've got 2 pairs of the Tech7 and a brand new one from the Tech 10 super vented for those extrem hot days. The vents on the Tech 10 work amazingly! The Tech 7 enduro works any given time and the Tech 7 enduro drystar is my trawling companion. The amazing 3 💪🏻😁

Alpinestars are probably the most comfortable boot I ever used. I've had three different ones over the last 30 years with the Tech 7 being the most expensive boot I've ever purchased.

I got a pair of tech 5 least season and there great, big enough for knee braces and guards and I can still tighten it up on the trail to stop some mud

Just depends on which adventure boot you're comparing it to. It is definitely stiffer than many of the adv boots. Some adv boots are built more around comfort and some are built for more aggressive riding when riders want more support and protection.

@@cinnamonbearsr6004 4E, I actually felt good in a 10, 11 was even better. It didn't feel painful tight like the original Astar tech 10. I wear around a 10.5 on one foot, less wide foot, EE.

Just bought some Tech 3s. They were the most comfortable of the five brands I tried. Will see how _that_ goes. Can you order the aluminum buckles from the Tech5 and fit them on the 3? Thanks, S

I had a Tech 7 and stepped up to Tech 10 last Year and definitely didn't made anything wrong! I had many problems with the Tech 7...I have a really wide leg and a "normal" foot and they didnt fit me right.. They were way to tight in the opening and in the ankle area... Now i got Tech 10..Love them, comfortable, good looking, nice fitment, big opening even for big legs, huge footpeg feeling! Only disappointing think about them are how long they last.. I rode 30 hours on them and they don't look fresh like my old tech 7...

Great video. In the market for new boots and had a quick question. Could you possibly provide the breakdowns on the various weights of all these models? Seems as though that is one spec. that is harder to obtain. Thanks so much.

I don't have the weights, but as you'd expect, the tech 3 and 5 are the lightest, the tech 7 is just a little bit heavier than those two, and the tech10 is the heaviest due to the extra TPR and the inner ankle brace. - Chase

I have the money to buy tech 10s but im not a agressive rider i have bad ankles but being a slower rider shall i still get the tech 10s

If you have bad ankles and want the most support, then yes, you want a Tech 10. But the Tech 7 is still a great option that has good support and if you're not an aggressive rider, they would also be a great option. I'd also maybe consider the Gaerne SG12. - Chase

Tech 7 enduro soles wore out extremely quick. Great boats, super comfortable but soles only lasted 1/2 a season for me.

I have a teck 7 and I have tried the teck 10 and I personally think that the teck 7 is way more comfortable

So i tried on Tech 10s, I was bummed. I was looking forward towards it I asked about Tech 7, and then tried the new fox instincts. With Tech 10 I was coming with hype however my inner ankle joint was getting a lot of pressure in the 10s I didn’t want to just dismiss it right away but super bummed and had to step down to Tech 7. But I guess m I did myself a favor saved a lot from the extra $300 from the 10s but damn it I wanted those 😔

Ya I bout some text 7s , they were to tight for me in the toe box. So I send them back for some text 5s fit much better. I did like the the 7s just to tight. Astar’s are nice boots.

I have had tech 10’s and 7’s the tens was more comfortable starting out but one the 7’s was broken in they was more comfortable than the 10’s just my opinion

This is, understandably, MX-focused. I think it would be cool if "Controllability" could be maybe worked into comparisons. I have Tech 1's (cheap and made to survive nuclear detonation) but you can hardly control the brake or gears - good first boot (insanely comfortable - I could sleep in them) but I am looking to upgrade. The main focus for me (Enduro/trail riding) is how well I can control the gear lever and brake with the boot when I'm full-forward or back (up/downhill etc.) plus grip etc. but you did talk about that. Thanks for the review.

I do quite a bit of trail riding and I ride in Tech 7's. I think they are great, I used to have Tech 3's and I feel like I don't have as much movement with my ankles with the 7's, which made foot controls a little difficult at first, but once you get used to them they are awesome. I also had a really bad sprain from riding when I had my Tech 3's that I feel may have been avoided if I had the extra support from the 7's. I steered away from the Tech 10's because I read a lot of reviews that they just aren't great for trail riding and really only worth it if you only ride at the track. I did end up going with the normal sole over the enduro sole too as I read a lot of reviews saying the enduro sole can grip the pegs too much and make it hard to drop your feet off the pegs in difficult terrain. I mostly ride down in Moab too and I feel like when I am off the bike the normal sole works fine, I never feel like I am going to slip on the side of a slick rock face when I'm spotting someone. The Tech 7's are also significantly more comfortable than my Tech 3's where.

I am 100% trail and ride the Tech 7. Love the comfort and feel of the boots, and love the boot overall. They are not the most durable boots, if you are looking for super durable boots, look to Gearne or Sidi. Something to consider if you ride a lot of trails is the Tech 7 Enduro.

Love my tech 3’s but I just had a strap rip off after only about 6 rides. Just in the process of claiming warranty however I’m not confident they will come to the party. I hope so as I was literally telling all my mates how happy I was with them.

The point is to help people choose which one is best for them. And yes, inventory is low right now, but that is the case for just about every company right now. COVID slowed down production big time and companies are playing catch up. But sooner than later we will have plenty of their boots in stock.
