Such a straightforward video, even though I managed to mess up my screen. After removing the pentalobe screws and applying heat, only the display got separated and the frame with the clips stuck in the motherboard. Do you have any ideas on how to remove it?

😨 sorry to hear that. I am not understanding, did you use the screw drivers y or + to try to remove the metal bracket covering the flex cables? Battery cable should be removed first.

Thanks for your help. I broke 2 of the several tiny prongs that stick out around the edge and push up against terminals on the back of the screen. Are these important? The phone seems to work fine. I found one cheap in a set of small parts on aliexpress but the other one is part of the bottom speaker which costs $67. Not sure if I need it.

Hi, sorry to hear you got some trouble. The pin on the back of the screen are there only to latch on the frame of the phone so that the screen stays closed tight. Now the other part you are saying am not exactly sure I understand that one. If you want you can send me some pictures on the email so that I can say accurate stuff. The email is [e-mail]. I see you mentioned $67 that's high for the small parts inside your iPhone that's why am not exactly sure what it is.

​@@ersbit I found in the repair manual that they're called grounding springs. In the adhesive removal section it says "Caution: Don’t touch the TrueDepth camera assembly, grounding springs, or nearby parts." I noticed the pads they touch on the back of the screen all seem to be connected by metal so i guess the phone works because everything is technically still grounded but with broken springs, some things are not as grounded as the engineers would like. Luckily, I since found a different kit of small parts on Amazon for $8 that includes all the grounding springs. The $67 was for a genuine apple loudspeaker that comes with a bracket that has a grounding spring on it. I don't need that anymore to make it right. Hope this helps others. Thanks again!

It was bloody painful but thanks for the video. Right now I'm just hating on how hard it is to just remove the screen, I don't know if they do that to improve the stiffness but it's super annoying to open a 13 mini.

Hahaha. It's to make the screen more durable in my opinion. All iPhone screens can be removed without damaging the screen. On the other hand Google Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 8, 8 Pro even 6s screens will get damaged while trying to remove them to do a battery replacement or some other thing inside the phone. On the Pixel screen the plastic frame is too thin and the structure of the screen is fragile which make damaging those screens easier than iphones. (lol maybe Pixel screens are cheap and iPhone are well built)

It was super easy to remove the screen half it was already removed cause the battery was swollen, the rest i did with hairdryer. Unfortunately glass got destroyed because of the battery who pushed it

No this is the iPhone 13 mini. I bought the cheapest screen which had the notch of a 12 mini that's all. You can look on my videos you will find other videos on this same device "still getting called 13 mini"

why even use a tape. the battery is already sandwitched between screen and case.

Hummm because there's enough space between the battery and the components on the side for it to slide and make a tik tak clak clak noise without the tape 🤣. I am talking from experience I had put b7000 to hold a 14 Pro battery then when the b7000 got dry and no longer effective (I did not put a lot) the phone started to have this weird noise clak clak clak whenever you lift the device from the table or shake it.
