Love the review. I have just bought this for bikepacking. I can see there’s enough room for me to sleep plus keep my pannier bags in.

Great pick up for bikepacking! I’m about to review a new tent for bikepacking too… check back soon

Great review. I have the 2021 version. I’ve used it for backpacking, bikepacking and the odd motorcycle trip. It’s a great little tent when weight and space are important. The build quality is good and I’m pretty chuffed with it.

Thx for the video! looking at this tent or msr hubba hubba, but not sure if front door is what i want. How it performe on trips? looking more comfy for 1?
@heapswellnice3 жыл бұрын
Yes, much more comfortable for 1 person, especially with the wide sleeping pad. The single door is not ideal for two person use, if you are going on a multi day trip with a partner I’d say the Hubba Hubba would be better as it has two doors.

I think you guys may have bought the wrong tent if space is a big issue for you. I’m just looking at alpkit tents for myself at the moment and I reckon the Jaran or Viso might suit you better than the Ordos. Ultralight backpacking tents are often little more than bivvy bags with poles so you could argue this is quite spacious and feature rich. Thanks for the great review though, very helpful to see a product in the flesh like this 👍🏼💪🏼

Agreed, this was actually our first backpacking tent and didn’t have an idea of what to buy! Thought I’d share my experience with others. Good tent for 1 person!

I have the 2016 model and although you have the sturdier rear end as in half dome mine just goes straight other than that I am surprised with your review, I am 6ft 3 and can sit up in mine and lie down easy enough, I am a solo long distance walker and completed 8 long distance trails with this tent and love it, I have done a review on my channel - Expedition Hiker - I cant believe there is that many changes from the 2016 model to yours, mine comes in at 1.3kg full weight, I have got it down to 1.2 with lighter pegs.

It’s a great tent, we just found it too small for the two of us. For one man use it would be a palace! As we use it for backpacking as a couple, it doesn’t quite meet our needs. Just watched your video, Interesting that they have made so many changes, the vestibule space looks a bit bigger in the 2016 model.

@@heapswellnice its a bit like Trekology UL80 mat, they have made adjustments to a great mat that was less than 1lb, I have had the original since its been on the market and just brought an upgraded version, and now they have added almost double the weight. feels narrower, it is made of 20 denier compared to the origin 15D, but they still call it ultra light - even thought its nearly 2 lbs in weight now, like the ordos 2 why wreck something that was good in the first place, making it heavier etc. it doesn't make sense

It's seam sealed because it's not a lightweight silnylon tent, it's just regular old ripstop nylon

Those stakes are V stakes, not Y stakes. You can tell because they're a V shape rather than a Y shape 🙂

7:10 - wind "smashing up against the tent" and "driving wind", are you serious, you hair wasn't even moving. I quite like the look of the tent, but struggling to see what purpose it serves. Very niche market I'd say. Thanks for taking the time to review the tent though, very useful.

It was recorded on a calm day!! We’ve used the tent in Dartmoor and Wales!! We’ve experienced our fair share of “driving wind”
