I can totally understand just wanting to go out and having a good time and not worrying about recording it. Having KZbin outdoor channel is a lot of work. A lot more than I think most people understand. It looked like a peaceful camp and you got rest and that's important. I dig the green tent a lot! One part I especially liked in the video was when you were sitting there in the tent with the music playing and it seemed like a very calm and contemplative moment and then you heard something and attributed it to pixies 😅. Hadn't been there before and was great to have it all to myself! Cut back in the morning towards Great Links and Bleak House, that was a bit hard going over some boggy ground!

Nice and quiet, although it was a different story the few days before, as the Army’s Ten Tors event meant 2500 teenagers were out there (including my daughter and her team). Like the look of that tent, but can’t decide between the Vik 2 and Mongar 2. 🤔

Yea, saw that there was a good turn out this year. I would say that the Mongar 2 will probably be better for later in the year, its amazing what difference having a second skin can do. Cheers for watching!

@@SummitOrNothing - yep, bought a Mongar 2 last week, thought about a Star River 2, after watching your comparison, but I have a Phoxx 2 already for more robust weather. The Mongar 2 is a spacious summer option for if all the family go out. Only tested it in the garden so far last weekend in sunny south glos. I like it. All lime green lightness (I bought the lighter coloured one), nice with the mesh inner, feels like summer. No tent is ever moisture free though I reckon, as that night was a low of 6 degrees and quite damp, there was some evidence of moisture on the fly inside surface at sunup, but nothing major, and bone dry inside the inner - it dried out fast as soon as the sun was on it. Reckon the Vik 2 makes sense if doing some distance, or if you don't mind a bit of mopping down sometimes.

So overall the pas has passed the test? You see wanted to to buy Nemo Tensor LW, however the price has gone up and is now 260€,so I'm looking for a more affordable alternative but thta is still warm and comfortable enough. I wanted the Tensor as I've heard the Thermarests aren't as comfortable. So I'm looking for something a bit more comfortable than the Neo Air pads.

Seams are waterproof. I have a Trekology UL80 and you won't get two of them in there. About 5cm overlap if you tried.

Yea, I'd imagine it's a bit of a squeeze. I've had two matts in te Star River, when I went out with my son. Was a bit cozy but we fit, just about. I've always said, ypu probably wouldn't want to fit 2 men into a 2 man tent, but it's fine having the extra space for one man.
