Alps 2021 - STELVIO PASS - BMW R1250 GS Adventure Bormio to Stelvio

This is the pass from the Bormio Side climbing to the summit at 2757m. The 2nd highest pass in the Alps I believe.
The pass was taken on August 26th a beautiful summer's day with temperatures in Bormio close to the 20 degrees celcius (bormio is at over 1200m altitude already) and 10 degrees at the summit where I stopped to enjoy one of the famous Sausages from Richard's.
Don't miss the descent to Trafoi, this time through the 48 hairpin turns on this side. What a day of riding this was.

Yes it is certainly an awesome route that every biker should do at least once. It’ll test you in many ways between the fast bends at the bottom, the hairpins at the top, the heavy traffic and cyclists, the road surface, etc… but the sausage at the top is worth it. 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting, glad you’ve enjoyed the video.

Hi. Thank you for the kind comments. For this video I was using a GoPro Hero 8 Black and a GoPro Max 360. I have since replaced them with a GoPro 10 Black and Insta 360 One RS and One X3 which I’m loving.

Hi Andreas, thank you for your comment. The music was mixed at 0 dB the issue is that the microphone is low. I agree I should have lowered the volume of the music so that there isn’t such a large discrepancy. Thanks again for your comment.

I go on stelvio pass 2 times for years between end of June and mid August. At dawn and 1 hour before sunset u will always find the road free from traffic. Fun is guaranteed ✌

Yes that’s a great tip for sure. I’m sure it can be enjoyed with much lighter traffic however as part of a longer trip I had to fit it where I could in the schedule. Next time I’ll plan to ride it properly. Thanks for stopping by and for your valuable comment. I appreciate it.

I’m afraid most of the noise is wind. That’s the reason I didn’t post the engine noise. It is far more time consuming to edit at pace for the music than let the sound of the engine do the soundtrack. I’ve resolved the issue I think for further trips.

Hahaha nice observation there mate. I was wearing very light summer gloves for most of the ride but… at the top the temperature was quite low so that required warmer gloves. I always carry 2 pairs of gloves with me anyways just in case.

Hey Martin, thanks for the comment. Yes that is the intention in future trips however the sound was more wind than anything else so I thought that people wouldn't want to hear wind noise and opted for music instead. Trust me it is a hell of a lot easier to not have to source (and pay) for music and edit to it.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately the alternative would have been to listen to wind given that I am only starting and couldn’t get engine noise without wind. New videos will have a lot more engine and environment noise. Trust me far less work than to source and edit to the music.
