Agree with several comments below- big heavy bike, ought to be in lower gear for most of the turns, esp the right handers. The bike was chugging out of a couple of them. Using the width of the road is fine as long as you are clear of oncoming traffic; I guess the camera doesn't always properly display that you were aware the road was clear. Worth noting that taking a wider line onto the opposite carriageway in the entrance to the turns is preferable to running wide on the exits. Thanks for posting, looked like a great trip.

"Catch me if you can"? 😮 Well, in almost every right hand bend. At the inside 😊. Had a look at the beginning (e.g., 2:32 and 3:20), the middle section ( 7:37 and 8:08) and the end (17:37). The guy in front of you (15:19) is a perfect example how such a "riding style" looks like. That's how truck drivers or bus drivers have to corner - but with a bike? With an absolutely agile GS? Don't get me wrong, you're not the only one riding bends/hairpins like this. On the contrary you're a good representative of the majority. If you really want to have fun on such roads with a bold, expensive bike then I'd recommend to join a course teaching how to ride bends in an elegant, safe (for you and the oncoming traffic as well) and - for my sake - fast way. Invest 300 bucks and get a priceless 🎉 experience after practicing! Happy riding.

Thank you for your comment. You did your homework :) Yes, you are right, the right side is my weaker side, I am much comfortable on the left side. We had this discussion with my buddy, we have to practice more. On top, we made some mistakes, we definitely can improve our skills. I had this bike for 2 moths, I drove 500cc before. We are planning courses for next year, road and offroad too. Have a nice day!

@@adv_bumblebee That's one of the best replies I ever got on a comment! And improving one's riding technique or even practicing a new riding style could be a lot of fun! Because... riding a bike is having fun, isn,'t it? 😉 Have fun, ride like a pro, and - if you're a pro - instruct others as well. Because then you're authentic: you know exactly what you had to change to get better.

Buon viaggio ✌️

Not the best cornering, agree, but wouldn’t call it very dangerous neither. +90° cornering open view where in and out is very clearly in sight . However, indeed safer to stay away from middle line and put the GS somewhat in a tighter lean angle, it can handle it. Try to enter the corners by shifting one gear down to take it in higher revs (engine break) allows you easier lean, and keep grip on the road, easier to accelerate out of the corner, so your bike revs perfectly out of the corner on your own lane. I had the impression you were one gear too high most of the time. A GS allows it because of the high torque in low revs, but better and easier and safer with some higher revs. Stelvio is a technical parcours, but beautiful indeed. Stay safe and enjoy the ride!

Wahou... I've seen many videos but yours are scary. You have a lot to learn before riding fast in mountains , guy(s) ! Not only for you but also for others in front of you. Nothing good in positions especially for the right turns (entries and exits...). And never forget you're not alone on the road : cars, cyclists and walkers exist and need respect. Keep cool or one day you gonna die.

I hate that road. Not only is the road surface poor but on a busy day you will encounter bikers coming down sometimes two or three abreast giving you nowhere to ride without running off. Still, it was a small consolation to see someone who handles right hand hairpins even worse than I do.
