Are Chaldean and Assyrian the same language? On Amazon there is a book that teachs Chaldean. Will I be understood among Assyrians and Chaldeans if I learn Chaldean? I thank who helps me with this doubt!
@deusvult69765 жыл бұрын
It is the same language. We are one Assyrian nation with many dialects because of how we have been separated through times. Chaldean is the name of one of our churches, every person from that church does not even speak the same. There are so many ways to speak our beautiful language but the name of it is Assyrian
@chaldoproductions6134 жыл бұрын
David Khoshaba while everything you said is correct one thing isn’t, the whole language is Aramaic and not Assyrian. Assyrians are the race and ethnic group
@assur863 жыл бұрын
@@chaldoproductions613 There my friend you are wrong, it has been proved that Assyrians speak 60 % Assyrian which is classified as Akkadian, Assyrians speaks Assyrian/Akkadian, while chaldeans and syriacs speaks Assyrian/Aramic with different dialects.
@chaldoproductions6133 жыл бұрын
@@assur86 Assyrian isn’t a language, it’s Aramaic, and when the Assyrian empire was formed, Aramaic became the dominant language because it was much simpler to speak, read, write, so it became the main staple to the Assyrian empire and Babylonian empire. There were people who spoke Akkadian but to say that 60% of the Aramaic we speak is Akkadian is where I think you’re wrong. Chaldeans and Assyrians are the same people too, just different territories. Chaldeans spoke Aramaic as well, different dialect but still the same language. Modern day Assyrians speak Aramaic and modern day Chaldeans speak Aramaic, different dialects but a lot of similarities.
@assur863 жыл бұрын
@@chaldoproductions613 My friend have spent years arguing with everyone from PhD intellectuals about our identity and language. We are absolutely divided as a nation and are led astray by our own, this is why we have become as sitting ducks to our enemies if you want to hear Aramaic, there's a village called Ma'lula in Syria. That's Aramaic. We don't speak that way, at least not Assyrians of the COE. It's called Surit because it stems from Asurit, and from Ashuritum, as it is spelled out and attested in the Chicago Assyrian Dictionary, based on the 30,000 cuneiform tablets found in the library of AshurBaniPal. He has been studying it for over 10 years, and while I can honestly tell you what we speak is about 60% authentic Assyrian, which is classified as Akkadian, I know from my studies and comparisons that we do NOT speak " Aramaic". This is an agenda, and whomever claims it is either being ignorant or anti-Assyrian. Assyrian was never supplanted. Classified as Akkadian, it was mentioned as one of the main langauges of the Parthian empire, along with Aramaic, Persian and Greek, circa 224 BC - 245 AD. A thousand years after the false claim of Assyrian being supplanted by the time of Tiglath Pillaser (745-727 BC) Why Scholars have overlooked this is beyond me, but do Not speak Aramaic, but just as our modern Assyrian is influenced by other occupier languages like Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Kurdish....Aramaic was another one of those minor influences, yet the majority of our language is undoubtedly Assyrian. And i know very well that Chaldeans and Assyrians is the same, but some chaldeans speaks Kurdish too, and them we call "galbaye" those who spoke Ashuri once but now Assyrian/kurdish.

@chaldeanpower41323 жыл бұрын
No difference !! Same people !!
@user-xm8zp8us4g2 жыл бұрын
There is no difference. One label is in relation to a church denomination that Assyrians belong to and the other label is our ethnicity. Being ''Chaldean'' means that we are Chaldean Catholic Assyrians. The Chaldean name is in relation to the Chaldean Catholic Church, split from the Church of the East. We are not a separate ethnicity. We are the Indigenous inhabitants of Upper Mesopotamia, Assyria.
