Fantastic guide. I'm a beginner MTB enthusiast and that's exactly what I needed to plan my future journeys. Well done

Just want to say thanks for puting together this video. I did the full loop this morning and had studied your video carefully beforehand, your guide was spot on! The fast bits are fast! Cheers, keep up the superb content.

Brilliant guide, I've watched it several times! Many thanks! Are you planning on doing an updated video guide? Lots of new trails and changes in Ballinastoe. Love the vids, keep it up!
@TrailAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Not really sure as it can’t really be done in a loop any more!! I’d struggle to do one I think!! Maybe!! I’ll have to have a look!

Hit Ballinastoe yesterday for the first time. Thanks for the guide, it really helped. Loved it👍

Brilliant. That’s great.

Hi Trial advisor, you should do a video on how to jump or how to clear doubles, I know your channel is based on trials but it would make the trials more fun Cheers
@TrailAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Haha. Jump advisor! Seems like everyone wants to learn how to jump! I think people need to learn more important skills.... Trackstand / Manual drops etc. before learning to jump. Might do a series!! But I’m by no way the ultimate mountain biker!!
@Roadworks_ire3 жыл бұрын
Haha jump advisor good one, yeah if you could do a series that would be great

Can you stick a guide to a few beginners loops/trails of Carrick on your list too?
@TrailAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
I’d love to do a guide of Carrick but the trail police will be giving out! I’ll certainly cover the actual trails there but can’t really do a how to get there unfortunately.
@danielreynolds50123 жыл бұрын
Ha! Obviously pencil it in for when the world is normal again!

Me.ive only done the new expressway once.but mannnn is it a fast roller and long. Worth doin twice esp when it takes 1.30 mins 4 me to get down to sto

I always veer right at the start, skipping the first trail you did here. The climb isnt too bad either, plus much easier to navigate, no turns necessary
@TrailAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Yep. I hear ya, but that’s not the official loop!! Wanted to put a vid together that would show people the actual route. I also usually do this and also stay left after expressway!!

Great overview, we've a few of us just starting off, and ballinastoe is often recommended as a place to begin - are there any particular trail loops that would be good beginner sets to get the confident nailed? The coilite board just marks everything as red, trailforks shows some as green - great to hear your thoughts!
@TrailAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Ballinastoe is very beginner friendly. You can make it as fast or as slow as you like. There are no scary drops or steep descents. It can be rolled very fast so that advanced riders get the buzz… It maybe a little long so a decent level of fitness will be required.

If looking for very beginner trails check out Belmont in Bray. They have a some really good loops for beginners……… Hmmmmm must do a vid🤔

Love your reviews, just Ballinastoe and Ticknock, both fantastic. Which would you say is best suited to beginners?
@TrailAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. Both suited very well for beginners to be honest. Maybe Bstoe slightly easier on the climbs but is a bit longer of a loop.
@MrJwmurph3 жыл бұрын
@@TrailAdvisor great advice. I'm a very experienced roadie and love climbing but my 13 year old son is not so strong on the climbs. Ballinastoe it is so!

Do you recommend any MTB track on Cork? I'm new on MTB and can't travel there with the restrictions. Very nice video, keep them coming!

Nagles mountains between Mallow and Fermoy or obviously Ballyhoura for Coillte xc trails
@brendansherlock64423 жыл бұрын
Try Cratloe Woods Clare (right beside Limerick City) or Ballycuggaran Forest (Kilaloe) if you're looking for some gnarly forest /híll trails (enduro bike recommended!). If you go to Cratloe make sure to do the Kilmurry set, recently built trails. Strava / Trailforks / Openstreetmap have the segments / trails mapped. Warning, both are very very technical
