Regarding Amazon returns, the awful thing that most people don't know is most of the stuff sent back to Amazon doesn't go back on the shelves to resell because it's cheaper to just throw it away than pay for the labor it would take to actually repackage and reshelve them. It's really messed up.

It's one those things where the company that runs it's business like that is royally fucking up the earth and no one person stopping themselves from indulging is changing much, but since I know, I'm not gonna do it myself. At the end of the day, the companies all running themselves in the most wasteful ways for profit is a big machine none of us can stop. They got everyone in the habit of indulging and now it's something no one is gonna give up. The average American (just talking for self atm) is not gonna become a minimalist. 5:38 I think I can explain that. Steel often cannot be directly plated by specific metals and lots of silverware is plated for corrosion resistance and look. If that's true they actually ate away all of the bronze, what you're likely looking at is either nickel or copper or both. There's lots of ways cheaper plating is done. There's also that effect that exists for sale as a set. That's just the color of annealing.

Costco Has great Xmas trees we got one that does both color or white lights. Put the tree up for halloween this year. Covered it with a white sheet, some black felt eyes, had the white lights on and made a great huge ghost decoration.

Yes, we are literally looking into the past with a lot of the light we see from stars. I love astronomy, and just looking up at night, watching those dots of light is something I do often. Yes, a lot of those stars have been dead/red dwarfs for a very long time. It takes approximately 8 seconds for the sun's light to travel to Earth. That's our closest star, obviously. Those stars are long since gone. We are just still seeing the light they once shown

The eye thing is iridodialysis or something called a Coloboma. I think people with colobomas people are born with. Never seen a butterfly shape. More like a tear drop looking iris. The package at around the 10:30-ish mark could be a fancy piece of glasswork. Like, a dab rig, or just a non-functional piece of art. It could also be a very expensive phono cartridge for a turntable/record player. These are extremely high end, delicate pieces that can cost tens of thousands of dollars. If I were in that business, I'd request clear filming of the unboxing as well. Otherwise, what's to stop a person from purchasing an expensive item, breaking it on accident or on purpose, and then demanding a return/refund? I dabbled in collector glass a little during Covid-19 lockdowns and that hobby gets real expensive real quick. I could totally see sellers/shops demanding the unboxing be recorded. I could even see a seller demanding that a buyer agree, in writing, to cover any monetary loss that may occur due to accident or a package being lost prior to shipping an item. Again, we are talking about small items that can and do sell for many thousands of dollars, and they are incredibly delicate. I barely even touched upon phono cartridges here, but they're just as bad as expensive art glass when it comes to shipping.

Counterfeit cash is still a pretty big issue. I’m in Florida and would see it quite often when I was serving. Sometimes servers wouldn’t even notice until after the fact. One smaller restaurant I worked at had it happen multiple times in a span of two weeks, after that we had to use a money marker and test every single bill to make sure it was real. Can’t imagine the more densely populated places.
