Thanks for the kind words!! I always try and get the balance right between the amount of filming and the amount of stills I take! I do prefer the ECML to the WCML simply because the Class 91s and HSTs are slightly more interesting to me than the Pendolinos. However, I should really spend more time covering the WCML as I do like to record the current scene everywhere!

@WBDE The mesh attached to the barriers is supposed to be a deterrent to prevent people from simply ducking under the barriers when they are lowered.

Thanks for you comments. With regard to the 3 girls at Sileby, I could have stepped in but it would have made no difference, they knew what they were doing! BTP are welcome to the video, but I very much doubt they will have any interest. The still photo was published in RAIL recentley in the Stop & Examine column.

If you refer to the tractor at Tallington it doesnt bother me, it adds to the atmosphere! As for getting to the places I tend to look on the OS map for places where roads/paths and railways meet. Also there is google maps or windows live which help too!

Why is the white mesh used on level crossing gates in England rather than simply the red bar alone?

@UKTrainMan I drive EMU's in Melbourne for far too many years. The s### for brains idiots would rather dangle their legs off the platforms than sit on the seats. I just stopped noticing them but enjoyed the reactions when they failed to notice me until it was almost too late. 35 years driving on both EMU and locos without a hit makes me a rare individual in the rail industry.
