New standard Wayfarer boom tent

VERY impressed with this tent. Stood up to pouring rain and lots of wind, and so light to store. And lots of room inside as the boom is lifted 30cm above the gooseneck. Quality kit.

Nice set up. I just rescued a Mk 1 and will be fitting it out for camping so a tent will be great. What are the grey things in front of the spray defLector’s? Andy UK

Very impressive! Do you have any plans to do a video on how you’ve set your wayfarer out for Cruising? - ie control lines? That would be very interesting

Do you miss views out of this though? A window or a half flap might be nice? I know here in Australia an internal mossie net would be a boon so that on clear nights I could just use the mossie net and no tent.

Hi. We only put the front half of the tent up until bedtime so infinite views!! Internal mossie net would be good in Scotland too having experienced their midges...

Hi. Yes, we have fitted it to a MK4. It does need different fixings though and a MK4 specific boom crutch.

Do you have a tent which will fit a Cose Sound 20 mark 1 with aft lasarett? It is a design from B& B yacht design in North Carolina. It has a cat ketch rig which does not have booms but just sprits. The missen mast could be moved to a position just forward of the cock pit. What would it look like and what would it cost?

Afraid not. Wayfarers only. It's a shame really but the development costs are just too great.

Is the V crutch that holds the boom up sitting in slots or is just the weight of the boom holding it in place. Thank you.

Crutch just sits on the aft deck up against the edge of the side decks. Kicker and mainsheet hold it down.

I liked the look of this tent. So, on 10 December, I wrote asking whether it would fit my Sandweaver; if not, could it be modified. No answer. Today is Christmas Day; still no answer. Happy Christmas, Aeroluffspars. I hope sales are going well.

Really sorry. I did speak to the tent man about your boat and our view was that it may fit, but would need some modification. I suspect your boat may be narrower in the beam. Matt
