Hello from Japan. This is a translation from DeepL, so sorry if it is difficult to understand. As Teruaki Ogawa said in an interview, the budget did not come down for the 30th production even after the minimum line for the memorial work, "all the original cast members are willing to perform" was achieved. Because you all loved Power Rangers when you were kids, Tokusatsu in Japan got the treasure that is Koichi Sakamoto, and Kakuranger was able to come back after 30 years.

The look on their faces on 1:17, they looked so pleased to be back! 🥰 I'm so glad the fans got this. I know Sentai has been doing these "x years after" specials, but it was with more recent ones like SPD or Gokaiger. As someone who enjoyed the one previous to this one, Dairanger, i'm happy to see Kensuke Tsuchiya and his twin bro (the blue beetleborg!) reprise their Kakuranger roles. I wish they'd done this with Dairanger while the 6 were still around. I'll check the special out, here's to more 90s Sentai/PR reunions 😁!

Watching Kakuranger for the first time in 2002 makes this 30th anniversary special and nostalgic for me, as I get to see all the actors in their original roles again. Junior (Gashadokuro) stole my attention. He sacrificed his life for his son, which made me cry during that scene. It was also great to see Muteki Shogun again without recycled footage. Although the scene with Ninjaman is minimal and not have a mecha battle but overall I still enjoyed this anniversary movie

Kakuranger is my second favorite Sentai series, so it being your favorite makes total sense. The show is just so damn good and Junior is my favorite Sentai villain overall. Was happy they found a way to bring him back. I really love the entire structure of Kakuranger and of course it's nice to see Yokai be threatening. I was very impressed with this 30th movie. It was so much fun and felt like something Sugimura would have written had he still been with us. To answer your question about Ninninger and Gokaiger, those are different universes from Kakuranger. Remember, both Gokaiger and Ninninger also have the same Shrukinger in them that died in Hurricaneger. I pretty much look at it that there's the main series universe, and then the VS universe.

It takes place in 1999, but so does GoGoFive and I don't see any demons runnings around in Ohranger nor do I see half of the world conquered in GoGoFive.

A theory on why Nekomaru, but I supposed during the Legendary War prior to Gokaiger, most of the Super Sentai Robots were destroyed by the Zangyak Empire. No doubt the Nekomaru would have been destroyed or badly damaged too in the war. As for the Yokai, they lost a majority of their power after they sealed Daimou in the Sealing Door. And not all Yokai are evil, some were living simple lives like humans
