To everyone. I don't know if anyone has made this point yet but the reason Damon sings the lyrics differently on stage is because he despises lip syncing. He just wants to show that it's really his voice. I noticed a lot of people mentioning it in the comments.
@Alsacowa10 жыл бұрын
In the Gorillaz' story, Damon & company on stage sing differently than the original lyrics because the "real" Gorillaz are 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. The "stage" Gorillaz (Damon Albarn etc.) wouldn't be able to reproduce exactly the "real" Gorillaz performance and lyrics so they don't sing exactly the same lyrics. I think that it was explained during the Escape To Plastic Beach Wolrd Tour somewhere.

I dont know whats worse The incredibly beautiful lyrics sung by a voice that sounds like the last warm summer breeze before the fall takes over. My own memories and experiences, broken dreams and life lessons learned the hard way, all projected through this song Or the fact that we were to believe that Noodle actually died here. Something I never recovered from truly even though she is back and in, really, good shape and form now.

I've always that they were kinda cool, but in all these years I never took the hard dive into the Gorillaz world until a couple of months ago, and with good reason...I knew I would probably get blissfully lost in Gorillazworld and not want to come back. It's happened to me once before (different band), it was a valid concern. Anyway, what I was getting at is that I'm realizing every time Damon walks on that stage is the most passionate he's ever been. Fucking guy is a BEAST!

It's 100% a love song. In the old storyboard before the windmill crashing with Noodle was a thing, there was a drawing of a girl. Many people thought it was Paula. This might be about either her or Noodle. "She left me alone with my soul" - Noodle was planning to take a break from the band after El Mañana but we all know what happened and both Russel and 2-D thought she was probably dead. I will do some research about this song and I will keep adding edits to this comment.

Damon is author of these lyrics and he change on every concert for a purpose. Just listen what he's singing. Compare it to the original which was recorded few years ago... I think Gorillaz songs are very emotional for Albarn and he's talking about his emotions... or maybe he's just acting 2D, nevertheless, he's doing it great.

This is for me personally one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard. The song is about getting through a strained relationship and towards the end of the song, when the singer realizes he won’t get back with his lover he goes into a mental breakdown gaslighting himself into thinking that one day they will get back together or possibly even notice him for that matter. This is how I interpret the song that Albarn beautifully laid out. I’m stuck with this and Feel Good Inc being my favorite song of the album. If you have not listened to the entire Demon Days album I highly suggest you do as it is an amazing experience. Okay ted talk over 4:06am-4:07am February 8 2023, Wednesday
