i'd argue that bump is pretty tight right now. i'm snapping along to find the pulse the entire time and they are there. the beginning of bump in this run there was a bass bone and a tenor bone that were like 2 milliseconds behind everyone else but that got fixed after the first 2 notes. those ostinatos are no joke in the trumpet part either. they will have it together by finals night. if anything needs the most work its the ballad hit and their trombone soloists. they are being way too wild and arrogant and forgetting to play the instrument clearly. crossing my fingers that they have a good turnout against devils tonight, i'd hate to see another 2 point jump get pulled out again. dci is fun to watch competition wise when everything is tight not just 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place

To me the ending is still the weakest part of the show because it doesn't have enough momentum and continuing energy in it as well as it doesn't make sense narratively. Because it just repeats the poem again, but everything goes back to green and floral instead of staying black and bleak like the ending of the poem. They would have to create new narration lines to go along for the ending and I would've loved if they just doubled down on continuing the bleakness at the end of "Bump" visually and narratively because the poem is about how religion corrupts the land that God originally created to be enjoyed. If I did the ending it would be somehow covering the flower tarps, have the greenhouse remain on the pink side, and then have just 1 flower remain at the end to show the corruption of the land as a dark ending would work very well for a show like this.

@@DrummerJ you're probably right (I hope you're right), but if they have a better ending up their sleeve they should just pull it out already. Why put a worse show on the field in the meantime

Assuming how coats did it in the past, I think they'll definitely add something before finals, example the Taming The Dragon sequence from 2022 was added pretty late in since the original closer was pretty lackluster, and turned it to a really cohesive ending. The prop ideas you suggested could very well work, since in the end the narrator also discovers to live life is to have both the good (The Garden) and some of the bad (The Chapel in the story)
