Alsobrooks, Hogan both vow to steer clear of negativity in Maryland Senate race

The race for Maryland’s U.S. Senate seat is set. One day after winning their party nominations - both former Gov. Larry Hogan and Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks say they’ll campaign on the issues and steer clear of negativity.

Hogan was a terrible governor for Baltimore. He cut education funding to the city & killed Metro Red Line Light Rail by rejecting a $1.2 billion Federal Transit GRANT that would've employed thousands. This was extra hard on West Baltimore devastated by Freeway-to-Nowhere Destruction and promised a Metro Rail line since 1967. If my opponent did something that should cause concern in the eyes of the voters, I would bring it up whether or not it was labeled negativity or not. This is not everyone gets a prize.

I think Hogans record was pretty good on saving the Chesapeake and the schools in Maryland perform well above average. We also have a federal budget that needs fixing and Congress is a part of that.

Went to Linda’s outside Pax when I first got here. Hogan came in and shook everyone’s hands. Skipped my buddy and I’s table. I bet if we were in uniform it would have been a different story.
