In real life, Jonathan Daniels actually died saving a black girl's life named Ruby Sales. A white man pointed a gun at her and was going to shoot her but Jonathan pushed her out of the way and took the bullet. He was k*lled instantly. RIP Jonathan.❤🕊

YOU SAW them living with the guilt of committing crimes to the heart. YOU SAW them enduring personal crisis. YOU SAW the weight of the burden on their hearts with each tribulation. YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏👏👏 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow. If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. I would have to agree with you, because I too feel so much for these two men, Jimmy and Jonathan, it's so sad how these people went through, even though what we have done to them, I just wish I could just take a whole bunch of those A**holes and put them in one Big Room, make them strip down all the way to where the sun don't shine, then heard them all in another big room, close all the doors and windows, open doors from the ceiling and pour every single color paint there is and known to mankind (I'm not talking about a certain wrestler), Then heard them one at a time into another room, and have speakers of other people's voices yelling at them, It doesn't matter to me either a person is Black, White, Red, Green, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Or as The Rock would say, "It Doesn't Matter What Color a Person's Skin is", also we are all god's children, we don't make the boundaries, it's A**'holes like that A**hole Sherrif that makes the boundaries, every time I see a person on TV, I see them as my Brothers and Sisters or as My Uncles and Aunts, also I wouldn't mind attending and worshiping at their church, even if I'm the only white Christian Girl there, also I have two Nieces, I wouldn't mind if they attended their kid's School (including High School), as would my Children, as would my Nieces Children, as would my children's children, and my nieces children's children, as would their children's children's children, as would my nieces children's children's children, as would my Children's Children's Children's Children, Etc. I've been watching this every year since 5th grade. Around Dr. MLK Jr. Day, every single year I watch this film as well as "My Friend Martin". Always get the same emotions as many of us may experience. Thus watching this year, for some reason seemed to hit differently, going through a protest of my own a few years ago in Little Rock. Getting tear-gassed, chased off bridges, off streets, and witnessing others get beaten and pushed. It all just came rushing back, when witnessing it in this film. It was like seeing both things at one time and re-living that protest all over again. RIP to all that were lost during the Civil Rights, and those in this nation since slavery. We have so far to go in this world when it comes to racism. We may be out of the woods, compared to the past. But the hatred will still linger until we can get to a point where we can stop it at the source. RIP to everyone else who became a victim of police brutality. Emmett Till, Trayvon Martin, George Floyd and much much more.

One of the things I love about this movie is how well behaved black people were back in 1965. No stupid sagging pants, people not dressed like they just got out of bed! No one playing "music" at over the top volumes in there cars. No ganstas, no hoochi mommas, no in the hood garbage like we see so much of in our community now! Perhaps, best of all, you don't here any black folks in this movie cussing almost every sentence you here coming out of their mouths! In fact you hear no cussing at all!This movie is a breath of fresh air from what I see from the people in my community today!

The movie is a testament and memorial to the historic events of that time. But can imagine that the actual events were so much more scary - makes my heart tight to even think of that time. Interestingly, i feel that the governor (or whoever) backed off at the barricade when he saw the number of northern whites marching in solidarity. Yes Jonathon Daniels was a true martyr.

She teaching young women like myself who got put into college by her she made sure I went to a HBCU ALABAMA STATE. She teaches women how to grow up to become powerful strong. 💪🏾
