Nice coverage. I will miss the Corail coaches. What impressed me the most on them was the overall ride comfort (suspension in particular) minus the rather "cheap" faux leather seat covers. When I grew up near Aachen, Germany in the 1980´s I travelled quite a bit on Corail coaches on the Köln - Liege/Bruxelles - Paris Nord expresses (although mostly to Liege only) but once I was even able to ride in the cabin of a CC40000 between Bruxelles-Midi and Paris Nord then ... The Coradia Liner is a nice development/replacement but the appeal of the Corail coaches only has gone downhill because SNCF did not invest in refurbishments in recent years as replacement was planned already. Makes me wonder if the vehicle suspension (to me a significant part of the overall ride experience) of the Coradia Liner is on par with that of the Corail coaches.

J'aime beaucoup ces Coradia Liner et cette ligne. Les écouteurs ou les bouchons anti-bruit sont utiles tant les groupes diesel sont bruyants, je m'y suis fait. Le siège seconde n'a rien à envier à celui de Première, à part l'accoudoir et la prise à partager. Le siège s'incline grâce à un levier en Première. 😎 Je m'équipe en snacks et boissons pour les 4h de trajet. Sur l'écran dans la gare on voit le TER pour Strasbourg qui a été recréé cette année. Il est effectué en matériel Corail.

Trop cool ce train 👍😊 La première fois que je l'ai pris entre Paris et Vesoul je pensait que je m'était trompé de train ou alors que il remplaçait exceptionnellement un corail en panne. Mais en faite j'ai appris que c'était le nouveau train qui allait circuler ici 😉😁😅😂 Mais dommage pour les corail mais trop cool aussi pour ce nouveau train 😊😎

At least the Gare de`l Est is within a few minutes walking distance from Gare du Nord. So, it´s an easy fix if you´re at Gare du Nord and desperate for something from M&S ... But I get your point that Gare de´l Est has no relationship with traffic to Britain but Gare du Nord does.

It's interesting to see that the company is SNCF TER Grand Est but the train is still treated as if it's Intercites. I think they're probably trying to retain the Intercites standard to the train, just with the name of a regional train operator.

Oui victime de son succès (tarif promo TER Grand-Est internet 20€ pour Paris-Mulhouse, sinon avec carte régionale Presto c'est 20€ en seconde et 30€ en première le week-end). Et aussi les groupes diesel trop sollicités qui rendent des rames indisponibles. La diminution de la desserte vers Belfort et Mulhouse a résolu en partie le problème, et d'autres rames vont être bientôt livrées.

Also it differs how much you will get onboard. In new sprinters types SNG and FLIRT you get charging points all in the train(both classes) with SLT+DDAR+SGMM none at all. With intercity's only in first class. (About to change with the upcoming ICNG trains in 2021 which will feature things like charging points in both classes.) But the dutch railways are one thing compared to some countrys:On time. About 82%(if ts not more) has to be on time.

It's only 4h30 for the full trip Paris - Mulhouse. Most people do shorter trips and get on or off at intermediate stations. No need for food service. There are also much faster TGVs that go from Paris to Mulhouse - and they have food service. The slower TER trains are cheaper than TGVs, thus people would not want food service anyway as it's the economy option if you want to go the full trip.

Hey ;) can you do a little trip report on the Transilien H fro Paris Nord to Bessancourt plllleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssssseeeee. 1st : You will have a few opportunities to spot trains : -Paris Nord -> after Saint Denis (loooong distance) -Ermont Eaubonne (a big 10-track-train stop where RER C stops and Transilien J begins with) 2nd : if you come here in Bessancourt, the stop has been **TOTALLY** renovated (it took nearly 10 months). There is still some work close to the RR Xing but it is for underground water so its different 3rd : I might see you ;) I hope you will see this and my wish become reality. Buy a 30€ card called Presto for 1 year you will get 30% discount on working days, or 70% discount at the weekend and on bank holiday(70% discount also apply for 3 people travelling together with you )... Example first class for TER Paris Est-Mulhouse the normal price is 100.8€, with a Presto card you pay 30.3€ on a Sunday journey.

In the summer you could try to go to Spain via Portbou with I think it's intercités and then pick a mid distance train (because normal trains down here aren't pretty good heheh). Also Portbou it's nice to see, although the train station is a little bit old and abandoned...

These look darker and not great. They are following the UK and making Intercity worse. These trains are regional trains posing as Intercity. This is not Intercity comfort nor ambience. The Germans have the best trains but that said, the Velaro ruins everything there. New trains are poor.
