Any ideas for punk summer activities?
@sk8ordie696 ай бұрын
Go to shows. Skate a ton. Make a comfy pair of shorts with good airflow or other clothes that won't be super hot if you plan to diy. Protests and other gatherings in your scene will happen more in summer as well!

Hey man, I wanted to get involved in the crust punk movement. I have basic and intermediate knowledge about anarchism, but I'm not really into reading books at the moment. I've already finished two: 'God and the State' and 'The Soul of Man under Socialism'. I've also done some thorough research on the crust punk movement and the ideals they preach. I'd like to know what else is necessary. I'm not much of a homebody, haha, but I've been to a couple of crust shows here in my city. If you could lend me a hand, I'd appreciate it.

Hey there, your best reading materials in my opinion are going to be punk ideals in general aside from crust punk stuff! I can recommend short easy reads that are super digestible in the form of the communist manifesto and a critique on the gotha programme from Marx as really good short introductory reads into socialist stuff. I really recommend reading into Gramsci's war of position/maneuver and 'against prefiguration, an anarchist iconoclasm' as again brief looks into leftist unification if that's your jam. Crust punk is very political so any areas that are anti capitalist in natural are a safe bet. I also recommend democratic confederalism and punk house by Abby banks. (They cover community building) and the really basic choice of the anarchist cookbook. Literally any zines by artists you like will have references to resources within the community and ways to help the scene usually as well. If you really don't like reading talk to some punks at shows and see what you can do to immerse yourself in the culture and scene. I like doing things like mutual aid and protests to find those people as well. There's a lot less of a crust punk scene here so that's all the advice I can really give off the top of my head, just remember you don't need to dress a certain way or change anything about yourself as long as you respect the culture and the good people in it, just being around them is going to be your best bet of learning the ins and outs. Hope that helps and cheers!
