This was so deeply touching. I'm glad they found the sword. I am so sorry, guys, for the loss. Your words and actions during this video were spot on. I'm so glad that you and your cats are okay.

Coming from a person who has lost everything to a house fire, somehow, my photographs survived in a hard suitcase at the bottom of my closet. Smart choice on my part. That's all that was left. My pans were little puddles of melted aluminum and nothing was left. I got so sick of smelling that burned smell. We have to be grateful for our lives. We will get new possessions. Best of everything to you and your family. You guys will get through this and make new memories

Of all the videos about these terrible fires, that I have watched, this one broke my heart. I had goosebumps watching, and it bought me to tears. To say I am sorry this happened to you is an understatement, but 'sorry' is the only word I can think of right now. Take care, stay well, and don't let this awful tragedy get the better of you. It's taken enough from you already. Sending love and hugs from New Zealand.

I am deeply sorry for each and every person and all the animals. The loss is so deep and devastating it is beyond stuff as so many people seem to say. It is community and I never knew so many things you shared and appreciate you all sharing with us. This hits my soul so deeply. ❤

Critter here. I didn't realize this was _the_ *Kyle Shire* , producer from Critical Role, until a few minutes into the video. I knew they exceeded their GoFundMe donation so I'm glad they have the means to rebuild. I kept thinking, _Why does that tall guy look so familiar?_ Then I went back to the beginning of the video to see their names. But seeing this with the normally jolly Kyle was heartbreaking. More power to Kyle and Jon. #CritterHug

I grew up in Altadena in the late 60's, prayers to all!

I was raised in Altadena since 1955 and raised my family by Eaton canyon. I wasn’t allowed to go to my home with iD though I was just 2 blocks down from my house in a neighborhood that survived. I viewed the start of the fire directly below the Edison tower from my front yard. 😢

This was one of the best videos I've seen about the fires. It wasn't exploitative, it just felt like we were along for the ride with two people going through one of the most devastating experiences a person can have. I'm really glad they were willing to share this painful experience with the world. The climate crisis needs a face. We hear "x number of homes lost" and move on, but we need to think about it as 5,000 Johnathan and Kyles losing their homes. And pretty much any of us could be the next Jonathan and Kyle, we're all threatened by extreme weather now no matter where you are.

The best neighborhood ever! It had so much character. I was born in Altadena in the 1990s and my parent’s bought the house in the 1980s. I lived around the corner from them and boy will I miss it! We will all be back though, get ready! Also, he should be wearing more protective gear.

Really feeling sorry for you all. It was dramatic and devastating fires. Glad you are alive. We get floods here in far north Queensland, nearly every February, so can empathise a bit.

(I really think they should Install individual water spraying systems onto the perimeter of the individual houses) Also I highly recommend watching the 2 videos uploaded on the "What is going on with shipping?" KZbin channel. He has years of experience fighting fires & explains which things that need to be done. I feel for anyone who lost their home. Homes are so expensive, Yet our country has NO SYSTEM if people lose their homes. Two things can be true at the same time: 1-Yes It was a devastating weather event. As well as: 2 -Yes The city did UTTERLY FAIL to prepare their systems. Fire is the #1 threat so It makes no sense how Los Angeles didn't utilize their resources in a better way to prepare them to deal with fires.. The city has to prepare for stuff like this. I Hope we will see them build extensive water pumping systems from the ocean. They should Install water spraying systems onto the individual houses. They could install remote controlled valves so they could control the water pressure. They need to build systems that redirect & collect any rain water that they receive, rather than dumping it back out into the ocean. We need to adapt our systems so they work cohesively with our ecosystem. We should build Desalination plants & We definitely should bring the Beaver's back. Honestly, how are people supposed to recover from a Disaster such as this? We are seeing insurance companies fail us, we are seeing our government fail us. Most people are struggling to afford basic living. Our country is completely unable to handle this kind of stuff. Our country is failing these people. How does our country expect people to rebuild a second house when affording the first house was already a life long achievement.. How can our country keep functioning like this? Our country is in complete denial about the impacts of these disasters. How will our systems continue to function? We have to adapt. We have to.

My hometowns ... would have breakfast at Foxes, many friends and family home gone. The house I lived in on PCH is gone as well. My heart is broken, it will never be rebuilt or be the same. The communties are no longer and many will not be able to rebuild, these were generational legacies destroyed. Praying for understanding.🙏
