did you have any problems with police in border area? we are planning a trip to Multinskoye lakes, but says theyre in border zone and we dont have a permit

We did not have any problems to get to the Multinskoye lakes. I got a bit nervous when our car was stopped by a police. The police asked his colleague "Sweden, is that a part of Russia?". We went to restaurants, shops and had contact with tour companies. No one said something about restrictions, but: we spoke Russian, my wife is Russian - although that it si obvious for everyone that I am a foreign tourist (my Russian is far from perfect).

@@JonasPertoft asked his colleague "Sweden, is that a part of Russia?". Ah, he just didn’t want to interrupt your trip and asked his colleague to make sure colleague didn’t tell his superiors and he wouldn’t have problems (if there were problems, so his legend - he just didn't know you are foreigners), they understood each other. Very polite by them tho.
