can hunters be infected in the lore? like, pretty sure theyre just worms

In the lore no, but frankly the lore is dumb. This Lore was really just an easy way for Bungie to excuse itself from producing Flood representations of these enemies in the First Game. Nothing more. There's literally zero reason why the Flood couldn't plant themselves within them, considering they spread not just by infection forms, but microscopic spores. They consume calcium, so we're to assume the Lekgolo have no bones and zero calcium? Even then, we consume things that have zero nutritional value all the time. Why would the Flood be any different in order to advance their goals of a biomass sufficient to produce a gravemind/keymind? What's stopping them from infecting a Sangheli, Human, etc and adding thebiomass of the Lekgolo onto that infection form?

Ok but let’s say they do managed to infect a hunter, they don’t exactly have strong bones nor skin to make them durable… since a hunter is contained of worms that are all grouped up together. Lore wise never happened but if it did wouldn’t last very long.

@@Armageistwhy is the lore dumb? The flood needs hosts with a central nervous system which the lekgolo lack. Don’t get mad at the lore for following its own rules

@@Armageist Why does the flood have to figure out some use for the Lekgolo? This is a stupid argument, this is like saying you have to find a way to use this old broken car when you have tons of money to buy a brand new one. The flood doesn't have to waste its time on finding a use for an organism that is difficult to use when there are trillions of organisms out there that are easy to use.

So actually if I remember correctly the lekgolo were used in the forunner-flood war because they were resistant to the flood. This plan failed (like all others) but they apparently are a decent flood counter. I would guess they’re biomass can be used for the flood pure forms and stuff, but they’re not going to get easily infected by pod infectors.
