remember that during the Grunt rebelion they almost brought the covernant to it's knees, they kicked every one ass so hard that the Arbiter o the time went "bomb their home planet rom orbit" and made the grunts surrender in order to save their home world but they werent beaten in infantry battle.

Remember: Halo has 2 damage tables - Bullets and Plasma versus Armor or Shields. Plasma weapons deal more damage to shields where Bullets do less to shields but more to HP. Next, the higher the rank of the unit (by color) determines health pool and shield strength. A high rank Grunt with Tough Luck and Thunderstorm Skulls are extremely formidable.

I knew something was off when it tanked a direct hit from a rocket. Then I noticed it wasn't flinching at all from getting shot. This grunt definitely has the Mythic skull going for it, as well as the one where they don't flinch from getting shot. And probably the one where they shoot faster and more frequently.

The phantom does drop one on every difficulty. They also spawn on higher difficulties sometimes on uprising. They can also be forced spawns by the thunderstorm skull.

@@AfterAllWeAreHuman the white grunt that drops from the Phantom after the laboratory section on The Oracle isn't actually an Ultra Grunt, it's a Spec Ops Grunt with a misallocated tag. It's scripted to spawn as "spec_ops_dog" instead of "spec_ops_dop", the reason why it doesn't come through as a tag error is because "spec_ops_dog" is a valid tag, just for elites not grunts. So the Grunt spawns as a Spec Ops but with an unassigned 'bipd' so it defaults to the first colour in the sequence - white. You can tell it's a Spec Ops and not an Ultra on Anniversary graphics without needing to open up the files, as it spawns with the Halo Reach Spec Ops armour just in a white colouration. The only other Grunt like this that spawns naturally in the game is a corpse on the level High Charity, which also has a similar corpse of a Brute with an incorrect tag which sometimes spawns as Tartarus

They already are in the ranks....you know because they're Ultras 😐 the only dumb grunts were the ones given to the few Brute shipmasters around or the expendables sent in hordes to die on the front lines by the hundreds, even thousands.
