BEAUTIFUL! Hard to believe it's made of paper. Love the crackle. I will be getting some. On a side note...are there people who spend their day giving thumbs down to everyone? I've seen lots of videos of fantastic projects with "thumbs down" on them, and I just can't imagine why. So sad some people can't appreciate something beautiful, or they feel better by trying to make others feel worse. I hope you ignore them. Your projects are stunning.

Black Sheep 303 do you know what is a comparable product for the crackle medium?
@BlackSheep303Crafts6 жыл бұрын
The only other crackle product I know of that dries clear is Ranger Crackle Accents, but I haven't used it so couldn't guarantee it will work the same way. But since Ranger makes the Distress Crackle Paint too, it might be close. If you try it, let me know. 8-)

You can still get the Distress Crackle Paint in Clear Rock Candy which is exactly what I used. Here's a link to it on Amazon if that helps: www.amazon.com/dp/B005FY5HCW?tag=blacksheep303-20 (it's an affiliate link) or Simon Says Stamp has it too. I need to update my supply list since Scrapbook.com has stopped carrying it.

I have never used the crackle paint before so you've just converted me. I am now a subbie BS303 and look forward to seeing more of your creations. I saw this video awhile ago and LOVE it!! I ordered the crackle paint so I could make it. I finally got around to making it, and it turned out pretty. However, the grey (Altenew Warm Greys) turned brown as it bled out under the crackle paint. So, instead of a grey and pink card I got one with brown and pink. Also, I then had to mess with the leaves to turn them brown, because they no longer matched the flower. So, while I still love the card I made, and want to try it again, I do have a question about how you kept the grey from turning! Any hints? I have thought to try embossing the flowers with a clear embossing powder before adding the crackle glaze, but wonder if the glaze would stick to it. Or, finding some greys in a waterproof ink. I guess I need to do some experimentation!! Anyway, I still love this idea!!
@BlackSheep303Crafts7 жыл бұрын
Hi Patricia! Unfortunately, I don't have any specific advice about the inks turning brown. I remember when I made this card, the stamped images were very, very dry. I may have even stamped them the day before. I'm not sure if that's what made a difference but it's the only thing I can think of. Could it be the paper you used? Clear embossing might work, but I worry you would get a white line around the image. Grey waterproof inks should work, it's just a matter of finding 3 in coordinating shades. Maybe this is a problem that will turn into a cool new idea for you? I say keep experimenting and let me know if you come up with a solution. If I try this again and discover anything, I will let you know. Good luck!
@patriciatemplin14327 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I used the same Altenew inks and everything else was the same. The paper was mixed media paper. Anyway, I'll try some more. And even though the flowers turned brown and pink, they are still pretty. I just need to rethink the background and redo the leaves. I think it will we a beautiful card once it's done!! And, now I have crackle glaze which is fun to play with!!

Oh my Dear. I cannot tell how I felt when I discovered this tutorial. Was just overwhelmed and immediately subscribed your channel:-) So amazing and just genious. Many thanks for the inspiration. Sorry for not beeing able to describe better, as english is not my original language. May I ask you why you also took distress stain and not just distress paint? I know you said something about it in the video but I have some difficulties in understanding when only hearing it. I already have all distresses and paints but not the stains. As I am building up all the needed materials for crafting cards, I left the stains beside, as I did not really understand what for they could accomplish my stuff. So hopefuly you can tell me. Tanks for your help. Best whishes and kind regards, Viera from Switzerland.
@BlackSheep303Crafts7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Viera!! I am thrilled to have you as a subscriber. The Distress Stains are a much thinner consistency than the paints while still being true to the color. That makes it easy to get the Stain to flow into the small cracks in the Crackle Paint.You could probably try the same technique with watered down Distress Ink but the color will be lighter with the inks because of the added water. You can also use the Stains for great backgrounds and marbling techniques. Tim Holtz has a great series of classes on OnlineCardClasses.com where he talks about all the things you can do with the various Distress products. The first one, Creative Chemistry 101, has a bunch of techniques for the stains if you really want to go in depth. I hope that helps!

I am looking forward to compare my little knowledge of the matter with the luminary person of these products! Until now I have all of his color and ink products almost complete, exept the stains-line, but ordered them today:-)) During the summer hollidays I will be looking in. Again thanks a lot for your very courteous help. Kind regards Viera
