I'm not a Star Wars fan-- but my late father was. My father went to school at a time when schools had just become integrated. As a result he experienced violent riots at school nearly daily. My father described Star Wars as beacon of light after a dark time. After emerging from the Civil Rights era-- my father finally found a world in Star Wars and other sci-fi work where the color of his skin finally didn't matter. My father could talk for hours to ANYONE about the series. This series has united so many ppl around the world for decades. There is a saying: "You will get what you want, but will you want what you get?" This fits the Acolyte fans very well. Because many of them wanted the "Haters" not to watch the show. Then when that happened and gave them what they wanted, the show got cancelled for not getting the numbers for renewal. So now they are whining because THEY GOT WHAT THEY WANTED. The problem that they ignored was that they only number in the tens of thousands. And Star Wars Fans number a BILLION PLUS. So comparing a Billion plus next to less than 100,000, they should have realized a simple truth. You don't attack a Titan with a feather and expect a favorable result. Over 1 Billion fans made their voices heard by NOT watching the show. Disney caught onto this and cancelled the show. As I have said to many of the complainers, "You don't reward failure."

I think the funniest thing about the backlash to the celebration of the Acolyte being canceled is the fact that they are pointing out things that only a vocal minority has brought up. Most people don’t care that it had a diverse cast. What they *do* care about was the lackluster storytelling, poor acting, bland color palette, and most importantly the canon breaking story. I don’t think they realize how stupid they sound mentioning the fact that this series was backed by such a problematic person was Leslie. I see they only care about predators when it’s men and not women. What that one young woman said about “people of color holding hands”, what the heck is she even talking about? This is the most ridiculous and pathetic point to make since this is 2024 and we have had multiple same sex and minority kissing scenes on the small screen since the 60s. I don’t understand why she even made this point since it’s so easily debunked. “Holding hands”, really girl? We’ve seen multi racial couples having relations in entertainment for decades, where have you been? From William Shatner and Michelle Nichols sharing the *first* biracial on screen kiss that wouldn’t have happened if Gene Roddenberry hadn’t put his foot down when the studio demanded he change it. They always say that something that happens in 2024 was the first of something ignoring the fact that since the 1930s, minorities have made great strides in representation. The first biracial portrayal of a relationship that happened in theaters was in the 60s and Sidney Poitier was the male lead. The first biracial couple on the small screen was Dick and Harriet on the Jeffersons and they had a son named Lionel. A biracial son which was *not* looked upon favorably by the studios at the time but you know who did? Audiences. Black, white, Hispanic… they saw this representation back then when biracial couples was more of a controversy than just portraying a black couple. Race mixing to this day is not seen in a favorable light by most races. It’s considered taboo. In 2024! It might not be as condemned as say a few years back, but it’s still not seen entirely as a good thing either. So sick of these fake activists. They spout their nonsense online but I would love to see them say something to an everyday person. They would get such a look of disbelief it’s hilarious.
