I think they were all just growing as a band and kinda going through this phase. Most of the songs on Bambi arnt as up beat as landmark and playing thoes songs every night probably gets to you.

in the live versions they often play an extended version of chapstick, even before the demo came out they were doing this longer version. there a video of just this part of the performance on my channel with what I’m guessing the lyrics are :)))
