I still believe the easiest yet prettiest small alteration was the orange dress!! It looked so pretty after you fixed it!! But also the jeans with the gold embroidery must have been hard but the results paid off!!

Girl I just needed to tell you how you've influenced my way of dressing. I've gone from years of wearing all black, then fading into a quiet depression with my clothes by hiding behind baggy stuff I've had for years... To not buying alot of clothes, but diving into the mujeres of my family's closets and going back to my love of thrifting. I went from being afraid to be looked at to going full monochrome, wearing all my dream pièces, being playful with my style, and most importantly loving my vessel again and feeding and treating her right. And today, the universe sent you to make me bring out my sewing machine and finally splurge on that mannequin, to alter the pile of clothes that has been sitting here for months. Love you byyyyye

Just wanted to say I wasn’t expecting to be the most impressed at the way you speak about your body in relation to your clothes. No dialect about “oh now I look skinnier” or comments about how the clothes present you to others on the outside. Only comments about how the clothes make you FEEL after you change them. Amazing and inspiring

My mom had to alter all of my pants growing up because I had really weird proportions and I'm glad she taught me how to alter clothes too. I was always really skinny but eventually also grew and clothes would never fit on my waist and my leg length at the same time. I still always get the butt gap so learning how to fix that issue specifically was very important for me. You can do a lot of these alterations without a sewing machine too you just need more patience if you hand sew but it's totally possible I've shortened jeans by hand.

Love this! When resizing darts it can really help to put them on inside out and pin your new sew line, and also to extend the dart a little bit further so that the sew line can merge into nothing as gradually as possible (the less abruptly the dart ends, the less chance of puckering) and agree with the other comments on ironing! ✨

to help with the puckering i was told to sew in more of a curve rather than a line. don't secure it with sewing back and forth just go off the fabric (never leave even 1mm of fabric left, try to go off the fabric as smooth as possible with a nearly paralell line) and secure it by tying the two threads.

Hello! Big fan over here. I just wanted to add my two cents on the puckering issue. I sew as my hobby and part of the puckering issue you are having is that you are backstitching the dart at the end. You should backstitch at the beginning continue sewing to the end but do not backstitch when you get to the end. Just sew until you have sewn off the fabric . Pull the thread a bit (gently) after lifting the foot to create a tail and then cut the threads. Just tie the threads by hand to finish the dart then cut the loose threads. Secondly, it is very important to iron the dart down. You could face it to the center but the ironing will help a ton with any slight puckers. There are other factors like thickness of the fabric that contribute to puckering but for the unlined pants/skirts these tips should work. I know this video is from a year ago and you may have figured it out by now but thought I would share 😊.

DEDOS PARA DIAS!!! 😂love this method This is huuugely motivating, thank you!@@ doesnt have to be complicated just has to get done. To avoid puckering at end of darts, try ending your dart just short of where it tells you to and tie the ends off by hand instead of backstitching at the tiny part
