In my heyday I altered lots of wedding dresses. It was very rewarding to see the finished dress on the bride. A lot of pride in a job well done! You do an awesome job.

Great tutorial. Keep them going. I have in the past removed shoulder lace. And do a French seam at shoulder and reapply the lace.

I watched your video on pricing for your work. Very helpful and informative. Do you charge the same for regular wear as you do for bridal/special occasion dresses? If not, do you have an example price list? Becky
@DowntownTailoring2 жыл бұрын
Hi Becky. It's probably the same formula, but the rate for wedding and formal gowns and as well men suits is about 20% higher. The reason is that you can't easily find an experienced tailor to do these jobs so it's more difficult to have them done on time. I hope this helps ❤

Hi Lynda! I use for this particular video a Dritz air and water soluble ink pen. This is my favorite for lace gowns. Cheers 🙂

I need to shorten a circle skirt. Should I measure down from the waist or up from the floor when it's on the dress form?
@melterpstra89992 жыл бұрын
I would go up from the floor
@indoora2 жыл бұрын
I had to do this on a beaded gown and that is when I realized that I do not like doing alterations.

I seem to be behind in your videos! Beautiful work once again 👏. The wedding dress is very pretty 😍! I thought we might get a little 🙏 or it as for all those layers. I wish to offer you some help. Use the word ' next' instead of gonna ( this is slang for going to)

I bought some pajama pants for my husband, they are XXL, but my husband is XL. Is it possible to downsize it in a fast and simple way?
@DowntownTailoring2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Just take in at the sides without opening waistband. It might be done fast. Cheers 🙂

I’m working on one now with the blush lining and lace overlay. However it has stays in the side seam where i need to take it in. It’s been rough trying to get inside the dress. HELP!
@DowntownTailoring Жыл бұрын
In that case, you might want to lift the overlay only and take in the other layers together. Good luck! 😊

Help please! .. cutting hemming on big gowns from front to train how soon do I start fading out to train (big gowns or Slender dress) thank you in advance ❤️🧵🪡🧵
@DowntownTailoring2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It depends on the length of the train. A safe way to make it is starting from the sides seam if the dress isn't too wide. If the dress is wide, then I make sure that the sides are already around 1" longer than the front and go from there. I hope this helps ❤
@mariaandress70832 жыл бұрын
