The Umbreon VMAX Alt art price is crazy. Glad I pulled it when I did. I stopped buying cards for a while and was curious about it and it's going for almost 1K on TCG Player. Maybe in 20 years it'll be worth like 50K lol

Thank you! Yeah I extract the data and create all bunch of custom dashboards and pivots myself. There were so many things I want to know such as doing it by sets, by rarity, how many unique Pokemon are in a certain set, proportion of Gen 1 Pokemon in certain sets, etc etc and no site can do that. So I took it upon myself to extract the tcgplayer prices myself and query it and link it to excel and tableau and create my analysis. :) happy you enjoyed it and appreciate you!

Agreed. SWSH alt arts are a league of its own. In 5+ years these will be the crown jewel of modern Pokemon cards. But also recommend getting into SIRs of scarlet and violet. I dub them Alt Art ‘Lite’ haha

Seriously. That’s why I love looking at these data everyday. There’s so much content I would like to share but not enough time in the day to share all the insights. But yeah this is clear as day that alt arts are exploding and being pumped? Similar to the sun and moon alt arts and sun and moon full art trainers. Spoiler : they have somewhat crashed to reasonable levels. But still way too high for my taste.

@@pokeetf Yeah, right when you started covering full art trainers we saw that bump and now everything is chilled out again. If anything i hope alts drop so I can grab a Gengar for a little less crazy price

Glad I picked up a bunch or AA last winter and also pulled some of the big cards as a collector. Moonbreon and giratina V I pulled, along with many of the eeveelution v and vmax from ES. Two charizard Vs, and so many more. I just love the SWSH AAs. I won’t sell them ever, I don’t need the money and would rather have the cards in my collection and to display them in my case. All my Pokémon is fun money and a small fraction of my net worth as a 42 year old collector.

Nice! Seriously. A complete AA collection is priceless and precious. In 5-10 or even 10+ years, it will be the modern ‘gold’ star cards. If you don’t need the $, keep it. It will retain some value at least in case you need some emergency funds. Best of luck!

​@@pokeetf I'm trying to collect all of the swsh alt arts, and the prices I see after just a week scares me. Just btw I only need the ones that are sub $80. The fact that there is crazy growth even amongst the $30-$70 range is bonkers.

Props to you. Collecting all the swsh alt arts not easy. Especially now. What I’m seeing now, it’s not sustainable. But I don’t want you to wait if it doesn’t come down haha. The supplies of swsh era packs are dwindling but there’s still so many unopened thus the potential of more supplies. Best of luck.
