It's so cool how the astronauts will need to climb up and down 6 story ladders to get down and back. Maybe the ladders should be wooden to add more spice to the exercise.

Good cinematic shots! A few issues like having tundra logos, flight profile, general logistics, etc, this would take at least one or more falcon heavy put that much mass into a TLI, consider F9's very limited payload abilities, so yea, a lot of issues and having legs and fins on an expendable booster, however, a great video!

thanks, I'll keep all that in mind, I put all the stuff into LEO so that the Falcon 9 carry more stuff and let the designated TLI stage does the job. Thanks for the suggestion, will improve in future

When you work out the economics of the SLS vs the Falcon Heavy, if they just used Falcon Heavy Launches, they could put 10X the payload into LEO for the same price as 1 SLS, including buying 2 Falcon Heavy's to be reused for the additional launches

And yeah using falcon heavies would be more cost effective, they could technically build like a lunar transfer ship like the thing I did in here and just send tankers to refuel the tli stage and leave it in orbit for other uses

@@Neptumtauri I agree, it's ridiculous really, just shows how far NASA has fallen really. Would have been much better giving the money to R&D for probes or alternative methods of propulsion, which could have then been sold or the rights to use at lesst to commercial space entities, providing more money for research and probes

Keep in mind that 'economics' is only a small aspect of the factors that NASA has to deal with. There's a reason SLS is often called the "Senate" Launch System and NASA is not free to 'choose' most of its major projects which come down from Congressional and/or Presidential direction. (Still mostly Congressional given the track record of most past Presidential proposals) The program that uses Falcon currently is directly buying 'flights' rather than NASA operation and this is one reason why Congress (and NASA) moved forward with SLS which technically has been in development longer than Falcon has been available. There is also the issue that one can NOT 'purchase' any of the Falcon rockets or any of their components which is by design by SpaceX, so all they could do is still purchase services which has issues with such exploration programs. The current HLS concept will put many aspects of this current situation to the test but again even this was more affected by politics than actual economics. (Congress did not provide enough funding initially to choose any of the proposals until SpaceX dropped its pricing. Then Congress re-did the funding to allow a second lander design to be paid for, at least for the moment)

An expandable F9 will be lighter with no gridfins nor landing legs.

If the booster is expendable, why do they waste 4 titanium grid fins on it?

Logistics reason that I rlly didn’t consider that much since I did the video in a hurry as it’s not rlly even supposed to be here on my channel as I made it in less then like maybe 2 days for a school project but yeah ur defo right

It probably flew a couple times previously before being put on the Artemis-F9X roster. SpaceX doesn't make expendable and reusable versions of the Falcon 9-they make one version so they don't need to design an expendable first stage.
