@@Literallyhim_fr Thank you. My logic was in this timeline the Soviet union did worse in WWII so the Allies reached Berlin first. And since the Soviet union didn't have as much power in Eastern Europe after the war, the Allies didn't have to create a strong unified Germany to counteract it.

love the vid but i would think that we would fight better in ww2 in this timeline than in ours because we lost our warrior spirt after losing in 1864 and without that loss we would fight like hell against the germans ww2

We never really had any "warrior spirit", as a nation concept, thats the hard truth. Though we did dominate as a regional power up until the Roskilde peace agreement. But that was mercenary armies, not even comprising of danes. The serf armies of the absolute government period had no warrior spirit or army tradition to speak of. They were quite ineffective. Our pride was our fleet. Also the proportion of danish-speaking officers were much higher in the fleet, than in the army, in the 16-1700th. Unfortunately, our naval strength was shattered after the Napoleonic wars, to a degree, where all the warrior spirit in the world wouldn't make a difference.

It’s only the second largest city in Germany with more Germans living in it than there are people in Copenhagen. It’s interesting how different Denmark would look in this timeline, it would have two large ethnic minorities, over a million Swedes in Scania and probably close to two million Germans in Schleswig-Holstein if not more, and maybe what, like five million Danes. That would mean ca 40% of the population would be Swedish or German while the rest would be Danish, so Denmark would be much more ethnically and culturally divided and much less stable than Denmark was irl, probably still rich nonetheless.

@@Maltheus_ I assume Denmark would attempt to "Denmark-ize" the population, but considering how successful the Germanization of Poznan and Gdansk were in our timeline, I doubt it would have a major effect on the demographics of Denmark. Given it got involved in the first world war too, I doubt it would be internally stable enough to establish Switzerland/Bosnian type systems to organize the minorities, so I agree that it would most likely remain less stable.

Oh dear.. If Denmark had won the second Schleswig war, we wouldnt have the incentives to be a political, and economical careful nation. And with a large German and Swedish population, we would have a lot of internal disagreements! And with TWO wars won, we would probably be quite arrogant and militaristic.. that sounds like trouble!

0:22 No there was not gain control of Schleswig-Holstein and that was because Denmark 🇩🇰 wanted to give the Danish constitution law for Schleswig-Holstein but they don’t want that and Denmark 🇩🇰 wanted to register Schleswig and Holstein and Lauenborg in Denmark 🇩🇰 and that is why this war began in 1850 then Denmark 🇩🇰 won the first war and lost the second war in 1864 to Prussia ( Germany 🇩🇪 ) Hanover / Austria 🇦🇹. 😊😊😊😊

Denmark only wanted to incorporate Schleswig. But making Schleswig more Danish than Holstein and Lauenberg was breaking the 1852 London protocol, so Prussia and Austria went to secure all 3 territories.
