I think that France collapsing immediately was a little unrealistic. By the end of WW1 France drafted 8 million troops. Throughout the Slitzkreig on the French border they would draft more and more troops. And Britain would make lot's of propaganda about "German world domination" and such that would motivate the troops, as they did in our timeline. Some say that Russia was too strong and I originally agreed but then I realised that the total defense on the French border would require so many troops that I actually think Germany would have done worse against Russia.

I did my best. If you look closely, the German attack against the French through the Benelux was more of a diversion. I made the invasion similar to the one during WW2 where the Germans invaded regions nobody expected them to actually push through... (the Ardennes.) The Germans only went through the Benelux in this scenario to divert troops from Alsace Lorraine, enabling them to encircle the region. If the Germans focused on doing that during WW1 rather than trying to conquer Paris first, they might actually have made it. since that region wasn't heavily fortified...

Soldiers in WW1 didn’t fight because they saw the broader picture. War was still seen as an inevitable struggle of being human, and at that also an adventure filled with the opportunity for personal glory and honour. This was before they saw the destruction modern warfare entails. People in the 20th century couldn’t afford to travel like we can so a lot of people enlisted because it would be nice to see France. I find it hard to believe the morale would be “low” because there wasn’t a clear goal in mind

A good alternative History, it is not about some nation went crazy, it is mostly about different strategies. I think it is highly possible to have such an alternative WW1 like this, maybe besides these peace deals, but great to see most nations how they actually were in WW1.

Idk why the Netherlands is included when in literal history Germany decides not to invade the country as it wants to use it as an supply corridor in case Germany would be cut off from the sea by the Royal navy but also to save troops for the invasion of France But still I love it more than WW1 alternate histories.

I’m guessing the Germans invaded it just like they did Belgium in OTL because they wanted to flank the Belgian and French troops on the border. The naval blockade probably wasn’t as threatening since the Germans didn’t engage the western front in this video but who know. No real good reason to invade and occupy the Netherlands ITL.

I'm pretty sure Germany would have demanded a lot more from everyone. The dude was notoriously bellicose and kinds just wanted everyone's colonies. He probably might have just annexed: -Literally every colony outside of North Africa and South Africa, -Suriname and Belize -The Anglo-Caribbeans Hell, he even wanted to go to war with America just so he could "Have a free hand in the West Indies" -All of New Guinea, and maybe even the entire Dutch West Indies -All of French Indochina -He MIGHT try to push for India, but there would be no way Britain would let it happen. The German Empire wasn't really renowned for their ability to think ahead, and were pretty infamous at making worse treaties than Versailles (AKA sending Lenin into Russia, the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, Anglo-German Naval Arms Race, Wilhelm's plan to go to war with America, and "Mittelafrika")

The Maginot line was built in Alsace Lorraine, so the French couldn't have built it before ww1 anyway as the Germans owned it.

Interesting. However, while it is true that the French possessed formidable frontier fortresses (for example around Verdun) the Maginot line does not exist. It was built after WW1.

Did you use the states in the HOI4 Great War Mod for this? I know that it shows Wallonia as the area Germany annexed from Belgium, but that’s not all of Wallonia.

Very imaginative and artistic, but not very convincing, especially from 1917. I doubt Britain would wait three years to get involved; they had plenty of casus belli without Belgium being attacked. EG the German high seas fleet was aimed squarely at Britain, and France would have been screaming for aid all that time. Just add a bit of propaganda and the British people would be keen to help. Regarding France's attempts to attack Germany, by 2017 in OTL they had tanks which would at least have diverted forces from the German eastern front, or even ripped through their lines if used correctly. Also remember there is no Verdun and no Salonika front in this scenario, giving France many more men to resist. Talking of resistance, the German attacks in 1918 were stopped by well-prepared allied defence lines; they suffered huge casualties. With no tanks and no storm troopers they would have not got far. I don't know if the US would have got involved, but even without them by 1919 the British naval blockade would have drained the German home front - they would be starving by then. Britain was saved by Argentinian beef, there was none for Germany. I'm also very dubious that the Ottomans would have taken the Suez Canal. There were lots of soldiers available throughout the British Empire to defend it, and the Ottoman army could not move that fast.
