To be honest the ottomans were turning things around by 1800, but if it werent for egypts civil war the ottomans wouldve turned everything around. Also some bad financial disicions by some sultans also contributed to the downfall of the empire. Abdulhamid tried to restore the ottomans again but he was deposed, he did make really good progress. Also the young also made decent progress they were transforming the empire. A lot of mustafa kemal's reforms were based of off what the yound turks wanted to do. So if the ottomans didnt join ww1 it is very well certain they would have made it to this day.

Can your next alternate history video be on sultan suliman of the Ottoman Empire except in the alternate history the sultan suliman the magnificent of the Ottoman Empire lives until the age of 100 and dies in 1595 and he wins every battle against the europeans meaning he conquers all of Hungary ,Austria ,Germany, France ,Spain and Portugal ,and Poland,Lithuania and Ukraine and western parts of Russia and England and Ireland and Italy basically all of eastern and Western Europe and northern and Southern Europe would be under his control and no vassals just full under ottoman control and the ottomans would’nt colonies but because they conquered all of Europe the colonial monarchs would live in the new world the ottomans would give them recourses but they have to take care of the natives and allow religious tolerance and as for the ottomans they would rule over all of contential Europe with religious tolerance with an open mind it is only when mehmed the forth dies then the ottomans start losing all of their European and would only have Greece and Constantinople and edirne under their control until napoleon comes in conquers all of Europe and after his fall the ottomans start reclaiming some land and they discover oil in the Middle East is the entire Arabian peninsula is under their control and the modernize the Arabian peninsula but then lose everything after world war 1 and I just want to say this idea is just for an alternate history video and is not meant to be anything political and is just for fun I hope you like this idea and I hope you do it have an amazing awesome op great day peace.

Thank you very much for your detailed text. But this Ottoman Empire would be extremely overpowered and I always try to keep at least a minimum of realistic ideas and also don't want to either shorten or lenghten anyone's life. The Ottoman era of conquest could however probably be extended if we let Suleiman's oldest son Mustafa get this throne. Aside from all of that, I prefer not do to an AH on the Ottomans in the immediate future and instead focus on other countries. Maybe you have a different idea?

What I don't understand is how this alternative timeline could include Abdul Hamid, Abdulazziz, and others he in this alternative timeline, when they are descendants from Selim, but Selim's line didn't take the throne, so how could they exist if Mustafa's line was the precedent line.
@CartographicTales Жыл бұрын
No, in this timeline there are no changes prior to 1839. My other video where Mustafa takes the throne is not related to this one.
@lindydaddario8844 Жыл бұрын
So like you said in your video, and I had asked almost the same question. What if the Ottoman Empire didn't side with the Germans during World War 1? Is it possible they could of survived because maybe the Turks weren't disillusioned with them. Maybe the Young Turk rebellion wasn't successful. And the Ottoman's were able to continue, survive and adapt. Thank you for answering my question about that.
@CartographicTales Жыл бұрын
@@lindydaddario8844 Interesting question. I believe the Young Turk forces could have still taken power because of the general liberal sentiment of the time and rising nationalism made it difficult for the Ottomans to continue ruling Arab regions. That means the empire in its known form couldn't survive any longer with or without WW1. If any steps to adapt or reinvent Ottoman identity could have been successful is of course up to speculation.
@thanhhoangnguyen4754 Жыл бұрын
@@CartographicTales Could you also do the time line if Selim III reform went well and able to disband the Janissaries.
@lindydaddario8844 Жыл бұрын
So even in your alternative timeline the young Turks could of still risen against the Ottomans. But if the timeline was the same before 1839, that would of meant that Selim 2 would of inherited the throne after Suleiman in 1566. It was his inconsistency and weak character for not making sure the government officials made bad decisions. He was unfortunately not a good Sultan, and his inactions were passed on to his son's. Which brought the eventual downfall of the Ottomans in real history.

Nah you would see the arabian revolution again & again backed by egypt & whole of the middle east , & i assure you the arabs would have marched over your caliphate skull as ibrahim pacha would have done before the europeans saved your sultan’s ass
