Alternate health therapiest like acupuncture, aromatherapy, mindfulness, Reiki, Shiatsu, energy healing and more, are going mainstream. Should Christians be concerned about the Eastern origins, or should we enjoy the health benefits? When your child wants to learn JiuJitsu or Karate, or you're invited to a Tai Chi class, what's your response? What are the spiritual implications? What about the violence aspect? Baptist theologian Dr Ross Clifford, author of 'Taboo or To Do', suggests a balanced approach.

I am an acupuncturist and a Christian. We are not taught anything that goes outside what the Bible says. We are not taught any religion. In fact much of what Oriental medicine teaches matches the Bible. It reminds me of what Roman's 1:20 says. God reveals himself through nature. Many of my patients happen to be Christian. I pray over them. There are a lot of acupuncturists and naturopaths who are Christian. Many, like myself count it as a ministry of health and healing. God bless.

I have fybromialgia and have been getting acupuncture a few times for lots of different reasons, what exactly in the bible says against this? Bare in mind that if I am to go get accupuncture treatment I'm asking God for him to heal me, I dont believe in new age spirituality I believe in the way acupuncture works though your anatomy and nature. I find it strange because these kind of discussions isnt talked about to the same extent with modern medicine.. like if you need to get a filling you get a filling in your tooth, if you have to have surgery on your stomach then you have surgery... if you need to take something for your blood pressure then you take that medication

I do accupressure on myself... I don't use a practioner. I see accupressure points on KZbin. The guy showing the points does not talk about eastern religion or any religion while he is showing the points. Do it's ok for me as a Christian to do this, right???? I'm doing it for pain purposes & to get my blood pressure down, not for spiritual reasons. The pressure points do work for me

Can a Christian be a herbalist? Not into the accupunture etc ie making teas by mixing herb to cleanse the parasites and mucus that can live in people's bodies.

This is where I am now, like we see that energy is there. Scientifically! How can I deny that? I can't. Does it nullify Jesus, no? Does it open the door to a new perspective on spirituality etc. yes - doesn't have to be "new age" or "universal" but instead how can I take this and weigh it with my beliefs I know/feel to be true
