Honestly, its a sad ending for Australia. They never enjoy full independence from either the British Empire or the German one. After some hope in the Second World War for independence, those hopes are slashed with the Kaiser fleeing to Australia. The outback is reduced to decades of warfare with no end in sight. Although, I'm seeing the potential for a three way cold war between the Soviets, American Syndicalists and China with the Weltreich being reduced to the position of an ally rather than leader. Nonetheless, Australia has been relegated to being a proxy for the larger powers to bully around.

Kinda unrealistic. Like the other British dominions, it's gonna be kinda hard to assimilate Australians into German culture as the former's core is very strong in there especially due to settler colonialism and feelings of racial superiority. A much more plausible option is a bilingual system, with English being the local language and German being the language of government. Maybe to further legitmize the claim on the Britsh dominions, Willy could claim the British throne for himself and his descendants?

This is indeed a sad story. But countries will be forever what they were always supposed to be; Mental. No matter the borders, no matter the ruler.... Countries are more than just lines on a map. They are identity. If you are Australian and can life and identify yourself with the German Government in Exile, thinking that they are no more the colonizer but members of your country, your mindset, than everything is fine. And since the video mentioned the Australians mourning Josias' death and calling him Aussie, I think that they are happy. That Australia is what it always was: The USA of the Pacific Ocean.
