Hey, I own 2010 RL and I get intermittent minor static/wavy lines when using backup camera. I cleaned negative terminal on the battery as it had some corrosion and applied some thin layer of dialectic grease. Interesting thing is that I don't recall seeing the above wavy lines before that. I will redo the battery terminal cleaning but won't apply the grease, just for the sake of testing. I am also thinking of checking the alternator for the possibility of causing some interference in the connection. Any more ideas or have you seen this?

Mine didn’t have a backup camera so I can’t relate to what you are seeing specifically. Is it a factory set up? Definitely sounds like some type of grounding issue.

@@gearsandtriggers1343 Oh, I see. It is a factory NAV system. I don't know if somehow dialectic grease(never used before) could interfere with the connection. Thanks for your reply and the video as this helped me to plan on checking the alternator too :)

I'm going to be doing the same thing with my RL this weekend, question I have is how do you k ow how tight the tensioner goes? Certain foot pounds? Or does it only tighten so much?

The tensioner is sprung so when you loosen it and remove the belt it’ll go back in place. Then to get the belt back on you loosen tension again. You don’t ever actually remove it.

How’s the alternator treating you? I replaced mine about 2 months ago and now it’s giving a me a check charging system and awd system but goes away when I turn off and on and warnings go away

Did you ever figure those lights out? Those are the lights mine gave me before my car wouldn’t turn back on just wanna make sure it’s the alternator
