Scotty can you talk about lightweight aluminum crank pullies in a video some people say that they cause crank/bearings to wear out others say they’re fine and a cheap way to free up some horsepower thanks. I just put one on my accord one mechanic even refused to install it because he said it would destroy my engine! Stock pulley is 7 lbs the aluminum one from Unorthodox Racing is 0.8 lbs

I find a lot of them might tell you steps 1 and 2, skip steps 3 and 4 then they cut to the job being done and say "There you go it's done, like and subscribe" and you're like "Uh.....Okay I'm lost because you skipped most of the steps just showed the first part and when you had finished it up...." 😂 With Scotty however, he tells everything you need to know, it's great! Some of these KZbinrs don't tell you everything you need to know....Scotty is very good at explaining and breaking things down so it's easy to understand! 😁

Quick Tip: Keep the old belt in the car (in the trunk) in case you have a problem. Maybe even a simple socket set too so you can install the belt if yours breaks while on the road. In most vehicles, you can install a fan belt with minimal fuss (cars it's a bit harder because the engine compartment is smaller and things are crammed in more, plus they are generally transverse). A good sepentine belt will probably run you about $50-80. Don't buy the cheap $20 belts. You get what you pay for and they likely could break within a few years, and obviously, at the most inconvenient time. Just spend the extra money. It's something you replace every 8-10 years and could become a safety thing if your vehicle stalls because the belt breaks. Not worth it to save $50. Top Gear has gone down hill since they started spinning off the original BBC one with Clarkson, Hammond and May. I mean the one with Wood, Fererra and and Faust is OK but after that it's sort of gotten dumb, sort of like the FAst and Furious over the years. It was good for a few movies, but after that it was the same thing over and over again, different crew and location.

.... the fast and furious crack 😂😂😂 Different crew? It's the same crew. Just bringing them back to life after they get killed off lol And added some losers like jon cena Another pro tip: always buy from a autozone. So if it does break down, pull into an AZ and warranty it out

I bought a 2000 Lexus es300 at 190k and so far I replaced the brake pads/rotors, spark plugs and I'm about to do the struts. They were so bad that the automated car wash bent my back strut and now the tire is rubbing. I love watching your videos!!! I trust what you're saying and I love your energy!!! I love learning about cars because people don't expect a lot of women to be concerned about taking care if their car, mine is 21yrs old now and luckily for me almost everything was replaced under the hood b4 I bought it😁😁

Hi Scotty, should the tensioner be changed too while changing the belt? Some brands (BMW) recommend that. Probably not a bad idea as the tensioner is a moving part and can definitely wear out.
@nevinkuser9892

Only if it's loose. You can easily tell if it's still working or not. But no, definitely don't change a part that's still working fine.

I just bought a 6-cylinder Tacoma with 150K on the timing belt (60K overdue), but I'll pay to have it changed. (Even the Chilton book warns about the difficulty, and not to even try it, unless you know what you're doing---and I don't).
