Bro, I don't know how your channel isn't much bigger, but I promise you it'll pay off. This stuff is too good. Probably the best music/guitar channel I've come across.

Found your site a few weeks ago. A true Treasure Trove Just what I needed. Your backing tracks with scales used are phenomenal. Right where my playing is now. Thanks you ! Since you don't seem to mind requests would love a lesson on Mr. Charlie. Also a backing track for Stealin'. Again you and this site are awesome.

Glad you like them! Mr. Charlie yes! I'll add that to the list.

Nice Jeff. The Spectrum shows were some of the most high energy. I didn't start seeing shows there til 1989 but I'm pretty sure my friend Bob was at this show.. My guitar teacher tells me Jerrry is the leader of the band so he is going to a lot of times Jump to the chord tone ahead of Bob and Phil. I like figuring these out so I can get my vocabulary together to make my own solos at some point. i can't hear stuff that well yet. Like I can't hear Mixolydian that well yet.

Thanks! Best way to start making your own solos, as Nike says...just do it. Overtime they'll start taking shape more and more. I 'hear' ya about not hearing things. When I was in school I had to take 4 semesters of ear training. I was struggling at the start of the 2nd level and my professor recommended I withdraw. I did, worked hard on my own and did way better the next semester. There's no shortcut, but with practice and time we can all get our ears better.

hey Jeff - thanks for the video. i am a subscriber now and have the course material as well. I was wondering if you have the tabs for this solo on your site as the improv section is not complete like this solo?
@JeffWilliamsGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, I'm not sure why I didn't include that. But just added the PDF to the download and Jerry Improv section.

I would love to see one with the riffs for Picasso moon, That would be something, and the last great masterpiece, Days Between.... I'm not sure if it is Bob or Jerry with those riffs on Picasso moon but in Jerry's last year with us I lived "South of Market in the land of ruin." which is part of the lyrics to Picasso moon because I lived in a spot called Bayside Village in San Francisco in 1995 and I would have to walk through the area of the city that is south of market street to get to work every day. as I was there for a job training program for a year.

Hi Jeff. Thanks for this. I'm wondering if you could offer some advice or maybe even do a video that talks about how to practice & play higher up the neck like this. Jerry does this so often and no matter how much I try, I feel like my tone up there is just thin and ice pick-y. I want to spend some time practicing solos up the neck like this, but feel like I need to know how to make this stuff sound good. I'm sure I'm not alone on this one. :)

Hey Brian, great suggestion! I used to struggle with that so much that I just avoided the higher notes. I'll add that idea to my list.

Haha, 37 actually! Yeah, the decorations are acoustic panels, so not my first choice, but functional and all about the sound! I'll be cranking these out so stayed tuned for more...

Nice solo, but if you could let aside music theory and talk more about the feel, that would be great
