Should we start a poll for what color fill light will be in the next video?

It's little bit greenish so it's in the Matrix.

Very informative. Although haven't started HDI designs yet but definitely something to look for the future.

Hi Zach, I am curious about SSD design. can your team make a video about it? (e.g. design considerations... etc.) It's a general question but if you can do a series of videos about this topic, It would be appreciated. Thank you 🙏🏻

Hi, lets say a well known manufacturer says his aspect ratio limit is 1:8 (drill size 0.2mm for example) and he can reliably manufacture that. Do you think that using such an aspect ratio everywhere on the pcb instead of bigger vias would still affect reliability of delivered boards from the manufacturer ? (Without considering via inductance and via current) Are vias hitting aspect ratio specification limit always reliably plated ? (On delivered board)

Just because a via has the maximum aspect ratio, that does not mean it is always less reliable than a via with lower aspect ratio. Manufacturers normally specify those maximum aspect ratio values because they know it will have reliably high yield that is comparable to lower aspect ratio. They normally have some margin attached to that number, they have the ability to fabricate a larger aspect ratio and you could request a deviation, but they may not give the same reliability guarantee. If you go too far above the maximum aspect ratio, some projects may get no-bid and you will have to take the PCB somewhere else.

@Zachariah-Peterson thank you for once again giving a detailed answer ! Nice to know that the aspect ratio is given with a safety margin.
