Awwesome! Tunesian simple stitch with alternating one row stripes is cool too....especially if one is varigated and the other is solid. It blends the varigated well and looks like ribbons.

That's a lot of work done. I only focused on picking up an old knitted squares blanket project I left aside almost six years ago and making a bunch of squares one by one until I'm putting them together to get a heavy cosy blanket, since the crochet throw I've got on my couch is not enough to keep me warm. That and I made one crocheted sock, I need to make the second one and see if they feel nice to wear. It's my second ever sock attempt after finding another pattern I was ready to tackle on, after having crocheted for a good five to six years now. I'm just looking forward to just the blanket being past me because it's been in my house waiting to be finished forever.

I love how you talked yourself into keeping those blankets and making something in another color for the person you are gifting. :-) All the blankets I have gifted to siblings have been claimed by cats. All these cats have similar bakery bents--kneading, biscuit making, etc. Only the one my brother hung up on his wall as fiber art escaped being claimed by felines. LOL

OK here I am again. I found a bunch of that Jiffy in black--the labels looked vintage---at a St. Vinny's yarn and fiber sale in Dane Co. WI. I made a big skull shawl from a Fiber Spider tutorial. It worked up very well as a shawl even though it felt like I was working with a 5.

The radioactive bubblegum would go great in a stitch that’s like two color brioche lol i don’t crochet much but i LOVE knitting fluorescent yarns with a very contrasting color like fluorescent neon green and dark plum or fluorescent pink and black or variegated fluorescent violet/purple/blue and variegated gray/black yarn. It’s fun dyeing yarns too lol i have a few packs of various fingering & lace weights yarns, i don’t dye yarns often cause it is very time consuming.

Oops also meant to say i have fluorescent/neon dyes cause i also want to modernize the traditional designs that i know.

It’s what they did with the Forever Fleece Finer line….tease us with it and then discontinue it (at least that’s what I’ve heard - or maybe it’s just not in Canada anymore). Was so happy that I was able to get enough of it for a blanket, at clearance price, before it disappeared forever.

the first quarter of the year I feel like all the yarn is on sale and you are filled with new years intentions so the projects just fly off the hooks for the first few months. then you burn out or calm down a little for the summer when you just don't want to be working with wool anymore

Girl, I can't stand it anymore ! Pileated refers to a pattern of markings. (ie. a pileated woodpecker) For a sweater, it's simply "pilled" & "pilling". The English language has so many rich and beautiful words, can't we just use them correctly !?
