Your Stripy Unicorn looks so good! I love the idea of showing the patterns the winners choose! I agree about spincycle looking best in colorwork, I've noticed that myself.

Thank you! I have one skein of Entropy DK and I'm going to use it in some hat color work. I just need to pick the perfect hat pattern for it.. and free up some needles and time 😅

Thank you for sharing your struggles with patterns, lets me know that I'm not alone in having issues making certain projects
@mandyvaughnknitsАй бұрын
You’re definitely not alone! Knitting is always a give and take process. Sometimes you go forward and sometimes you have to go back. Sometimes your ideas work out and.. sometimes not so much 😅. It's a lot of fun, but you're definitely not alone 🙂

I'm glad you took my idea of spotlighting some of the winners pattern choices. It's so nice to see what others have found. Although I enjoy seeing the sweaters spotlighted by podcasters, they tend to highlight the same designers, and the newest pretty shiny things. And although I do love seeing them, there are so many gorgeous items that are never seen or amazing designers that we never hear about because of that. You do a good job of not highlighting the same things as everyone else, which is one of the reasons I enjoy your podcast so much. This just adds to those highlights. Two of the three you showed today are going right into my favourites, as well as several you talked about that you discovered or are working on. The cat gnomes and baubles are particularly cute. Have you seen the Ariana cardigan yet? It has a granny square body and sleeves, and knit wrist and waist bands and button band. I'm working on that right now.

Thank you so much for all of your kind comments. You made my day. I try to find interesting patterns and feature a variety of them, so I am glad that is coming through in the content. Also - thank you so much for your spotlight suggestion. It was a great one and I will be using it from now on 🙂. I love the Ariana cardigan. I have looked at it so much in the last year. I would love to do it in random colors, fun colors, neutral colors. There are so many ways you can customize it to make it suit you and I love seeing patterns that incorporate both knitting and crochet.

Thank you for the pattern! I have already made a swatch with a few mistakes. It is going to be a challenge. I am glad you are wearing the stripy unicorn in this video, it is easier to see the fit here than from a picture. It looks sooo good on you. I started to consider buying the pattern. Looking forward to see the finished flax.

Hi Mandy. I'm a new viewer. Will go back to your previous episodes. Your stripy unicorn looks great. I'm tempted to cast on the pattern but have so many WIPs I need to finish first.

Welcome to my channel! Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments 🙂 I can definitely relate to your struggle. There are so many patterns I'm tempted to try, but I have so many other things I need to do first 😅
@sandraquince1970Ай бұрын
I always have two sweaters on the go. One which just requires body round and round and one with some interest at the top ie colour work or raglan increases. This way I don’t get too bored on body island!
@mandyvaughnknitsАй бұрын
This is an interesting take. I always start out trying to do exactly this, but for some reason, I always end up working all the sleeves at the same time 🤣. I think I need to keep one around just for sleeves and another for something more interesting 🙂

That unicorn sweater is gorgeous! I'm afraid to make it, though, because of all the issues you had. I'm thinking the Wister hat is definitely going to be claimed by your daughter!
@mandyvaughnknitsАй бұрын
It is pretty, but definitely a bit of a challenge. It was worth it, though! My kiddo will definitely be taking it 😅. I hope your week is going great!

Your Stripy Unicorn really looks good. I like the Mandy's Magenta so much, I purchased a skein. The Trojan Barbros went directly into my knitting queue, I just love it. The yarn in the pattern might be a bit wooly for me but there are plenty of options. As an option to spin cycle have a look at Feeder Brook Farms "Entropy DK". I've used it and it's beautiful and great to work with for a more reasonable price.
@mandyvaughnknitsАй бұрын
I am so glad that you enjoyed the Stripy Unicorn - the Mandy's Magenta color really makes it 🙂. I have loved the Trojan Barbros since I've seen it. I think it reminds me of shooting stars. It just has such a beautiful and classic look to it. I have one skein of Entropy DK, be on the look out for it to feature in some color work soon. I've been looking for the perfect hat for it 🙂
@elisekt1860Ай бұрын
Yes I think it takes longer doing 2 sweaters at the same tome because you are doing 2 😂 I’m mostly monogamous since when I had a larger stash I’d try doing multiple projects but I would confuse myself when the technique was so different.
@mandyvaughnknitsАй бұрын
You're right, it's much easier to stay focused on one project at a time. I've just been really optimistic lately with how much knitting I want to get done 🤣.
