so what is the actual difference between loan peaks 7 and 8? I love Loan Peak 7! my go-to shoes for ultras and everyday training runs. the only issue I've had so far with Loan Peak 7 is a grip ... done 50km on very muddy trails here (I am based in the south of England ) not greatest for very muddy conditions. Looking forward to test them in the Alps and Gran Canaria soon :)

There isn’t much difference between the 7 and 8… the midsole and outsole are the same, they’ve updated the upper to ripstop mesh in the LP8. Otherwise, very similar! I also just published a review of the Altra Timp 5, which has fantastic traction and may be worth you checking out as well. Hope that helps - have an awesome time in the Alps & GC! Helen

OK I’m gonna watch your review see what you say I just picked up the lone Peak seven mostly the same shoot. They said it was supposed to be a little bit more on the narrow side but I size down half a size cause that’s what I was told, I could’ve probably size down a whole size Where it’s I mean maybe my feet too skinny I like ultra but that other fit that’s in the middle somewhere these are really just they’re just me they’re sloppy that the heel is wide, which makes it kind of uncomfortable, not uncomfortable, but just sloppy I went down to steep Rocky descent And they didn’t feel great. Maybe they’re more designed for mellow trails I don’t know gonna play with them. I really only bought them because I’m doing 100 mile this year and I want to do it in my Luna sandals and I said well Bob, mile 60 when it gets too hard to be in sandals, I want something flatand more cushion to bring me through so this still might work I don’t know debating I might return them but they just like I said they feel like they’re big but maybe that’s the original design
