Great Review! Thanks for encouraging me to put my greenbacks down on a pair of Altra Mont Blancs.🐺

Sweet! I just had a rad time on a couple of back-to-back runs in the Mont Blancs yesterday. I hope they work out well for you, and don't forget to swap out laces if the round ones aren't 100% comfortable for you.

Great video, convinced me to pull the triggers and grab myself a set after seeing all the negativity around these. May I ask what laces you have replaced yours with? Anything specialist or just basic flats? Thanks and keep up the good work

Just moved into my 4th pair last weekend, while I'm still pushing to 3rd pair from 600 to 700 miles. I've actually been running those two pairs in the round laces with moderate to good results. In my first two pairs, I used old Lone Peak laces as replacements, but I think any flat laces that you like will do the trick just fine.

thinking about getting a pair of these or the BOA verison. The heel slippage issue and the price tag have kept me from pulling the trigger. I have been using Sportiva Akasha's but they wreck my toes.

Everyone's experience is different, but for me. Slipping in less after 10 miles compared to right out of the box, less after 20 miles than 10, and basically a non issue by the time I've finished a handful of runs, especially if I switch in some flat laces.

Great "Review"! 🙂 Love my Mont Blancs! My favorite trail shoe together with Hoka Tecton X. Will try to find the Boa version at a good price, mostly because I need a half size up from my current Mount blanc.

I've really wanted to try the TectonX, but I'm never quite able to trust that my toes would be able to survive in any Hokas for more than a couple miles. Hope you have luck with the Boa. I'm really glad that I'm not feeling any need for the extra weight or price (lucky with sizing or foot shape). Thanks for watching!

Great video I also just watched your other video discussion on the Altra Mont Blanc, really informative. What are your thoughts on sizing, I’ve heard to go a 1/2 size down? Thanks in advance.

For years, I've been between a size 10.5 and size 11 in a variety of brands, and especially early on, Altra was notoriously inconsistent with their sizing. In the last couple years, I usually have to go with a size 11 not to feel my toes bumping up against the ends of the shoes repeatedly, and that is what I went with for my first pair of Mont Blancs. I was happy running 600 miles in those shoes, but I was least happy on descents and in very wet conditions. In my second pair, I dropped down to a 10.5, and because the upper is so stretchy and the shoes aren't actually too small for me, I love them even more and feel more confident on technical runs.

@@KentMearig Thanks for the feedback, I have always been interested in the MB and now you see them going on sale, I think I’ll pull the trigger. I’ll go a halt size down also for the confidence factor during descents. Now to ease into the zero drop, currently a Hoka fanboy at the 4mm drop so it shouldn’t be too difficult I hope. Take care and keep bringing the content, really enjoy your content and perspective.

How’s the grip on large wet rocks?
@KentMearig11 ай бұрын
In my experience, there is no outsole rubber compound better for grip on smooth wet surfaces than Vibram Litebase/Megagrip. And the Mont Blanc's outsole provides good coverage with its lugs, which is the second most important thing for that type of surface. The lugs are not deep for mud, but they're amazing for everything else.

How did you do that pop up label at 0:30? what is that overlay effect called? I am also making running videos (just started) so was wondering something similar
@KentMearig Жыл бұрын
That is a motion graphics file (MOGRT) for Premiere Pro that I overlayed on the footage from the "Caption and Graphics" panel. Some motion graphics files are more editable that other, and this one I got from a huge collection on Envato Elements. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your videos!
