They make the paper for the money. The print it somewhere else. As an older hiker I could not hike without my poles. I really like them on the downhill sections, especially the really steep sections. If I was younger I am sure I would not really need my poles. Give it time and you will natural slow down. Take care

Lots of people talking about the quality of Altras diminishing but no one talking about how Altra sold out to Vanity Fare last year, VF specializes in women’s clothes hence the downfall in their shoe quality. VF has no affiliation in the outdoor community or shoe making other than Altra which they just acquired. Also people buying a zero drop shoe just to put in a heel drop insert makes absolutely no sense. Just my 2¢ ✌🏽

That's some good info. I am planning a thru next summer and I tried a pair of Altra loan peaks but they are already worn out from training. I'll have to give the Olympus a day in court.

I agree about giving the Topo shoes a try. I also wear the Altra Olympus and for me the Topo Traverse out performs the Olympus. Good luck.

I tried them in Maine northbound. They blew out before 300 miles. And the tow box is just not nearly as wide as the ultras. Toebox or the shoe in general. Unless the lady sold me some women’s shoes or something by mistake…

How do you find the wet rock grip with the Altra Olympus 6? Interesting thoughts on trekking poles and shoe wear.

Best grip I’ve felt from trail runners. But I’ve only ever owned lone peaks, olympus, Topo’s and Salomon’s.

Try seam seal fore the shoes it is a glue that's perfect fore what you want to do . :)

Hey bro, try the topo hiking shoe absolutely incredible very wide tow box on there she also and talk about durability. I guarantee I promise you that they will blow any other shoe you’ve worn away they are freaking awesome bro. Do yourself a favor. Save some money and get yourself a good good good good hiking shoe trust me on this one please what’s it hurt TOPO

I was forced to get some northbound in Maine because that’s all they had. The toebox or the shoe in general isn’t wide enough. Definitely not as wide as the ultras. And I blew out the inner arches, like the outside structure of the shoe, before I even hit 300 miles. I wanted them to work because they are a lot cheaper than ultra Olympus.
