The difference between Hellsing, Hellsing Ultimate and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is: Hellsing is 13 half hour episodes with normal slow plot movement. Hellsing Ultimate is ten 40 minute plus episodes and passes Hellsing story progression by the halfway through the second episode. The Abridged cranks the humor and adds character twists that fit most of them for the better.

I'd add that the original hellsing TV series kinda hard goes into fanfiction territory early on. Despite the manga having gone further by that point. Kohta Hirano actually hated it so much they eventually made Hellsing Ultimate to properly adapt the story as close to the manga as possible.

Hellsing Ultimate is great I love it but it aged a bit especially the early episodes and it is only for people that can handle gore and dark themes. Hellsing TV series is ok to watch after ultimate imo but only if you are a fan of Hellsing otherwise you can easily pass it. Hellsing abridged however is a god damn masterpiece. It is so freaking good that even if you don't like Hellsing Ultimate I think you can easily enjoy Hellsing abridged. Team Four Star is just way too good at this.

There is a reason Alucard ask if Seris is a virgin. For Alucard to be able to turn a person into a vampire they need to be the opposite sex, a virgin and consent to the transformation. Otherwise you get a ghoul instead of a vampire and ghouls lose themselves in the transformation. He was actually making sure he could save her if he did what he was going to do next.

"At least watch abridged..." There is no words how much i hate that sentence. Abridged are fun parodies. But they are not equivalent of show that they parody. Its like saying "oh you dont wanna read books or watch all harry potter movie? So at least watch 20 minutes long porn parody of HP." Its fun parody if you know the original. But when people who dont know certain tittle dont have need for watching them becose they think that they know what is about. But they dont. And if they look at original they have spoiled every major event in show.

I know this is late to say, but really, watch the original of this series if you can. yeah, the abriged is good and all, but personally the original hit even better for me, and even the best of the abriged wound up being sidegrades. there is just nothing like the majors full speeches as an example. 21:04 conducting a war is what he's doing. this man is one of a kind.
