This place at 10:11 where you are standing... I really want to go there, but i can't find it on maps. Is this difficult hike? How you get there? From Gjógv? From Funningur? Or how? ... Can you provide me exact GPS location please? :)
@SunsetObsession6 жыл бұрын
The hike starts on the road between Gjogv and Funningur, so you can go from either side. If you go from Funningur, follow the road until you reach an S-curve on the road. After that, in about 200m or so there will be a pullout area on the right side of the road. That's where you start the hike. Check out my blog post (link in video description) - I provide the link with exact coordinates there.

LOVE it!!! what month was it? we are planning to be there in July, any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

I don't know what month this is, but being from there myself, I can say that May is the best month if you want the most clear weather, but it's one of the colder months. It also has less tourists there. July and August are the hottest months and subsequently also the foggiest due to water evaporation - it also rains a bit more there, but not as much as in the winter months. However, you can't ever really make plans and expect to keep them if they are dependent on the weather - it changes a lot and fast! You can expect around 2/3 of the days being rainy/wet/foggy, so if you want to get as much as possible out of your trip, then plan outdoor activities but keep some indoor activities as a backup if it starts raining or whatever. :)

Finally the last episode! Great job man! That waterfall at Eiði is so stunning! First time to know that.:) And thx so much for the location of that unnamed start point beside Funningur! I saw some amazing pictures of the fjords but didn't know where is it exactly, so I tried to hike from the village Funningur but it turned out to far from the top so I had to give up...Hope next time I could made it! BTW how much time did it take to reach the top? Was it hard and dangerous? I saw you are shaking your legs standing on that small cliff rock lol, which makes me nervous haha!

Hey, glad you liked it! Hard is obviously a subjective thing, but no, I didn't find it hard at all. It's maybe a 20-30 minutes hike up the mountain. It's rather steep, but you can still walk and don't have to climb or anything, so just manage your breath and you should be fine. It's not dangerous, actually, the slope on the other side is not that steep, so you can't really fall into the abyss there. Watch your feet obviously, but it just looks like that in the video. Take a look at 9:57, that's how that slope really is. For me, at least, Kalsoy was much scarier :)

Thx for your reply!:D That's really informative! BTW I found that Google Maps has added so many street views into the map of Faroe Islands, and I found there was an interesting hiking trial shown at Eiði, straight up to a spot named Eiðiskollur, just besides the sea stack Kellingin. I browse the 360° street view of the top where lies some relic ruins, and the view is simply stunning! Hope next time I could try this trial. You can have a look of it on Google Maps too!:)

Yeah, you're right, definitely worth checking out if I find myself back there one day! If you beat me to it, let me know how it was :) I also honestly think there are many more hikes like this all over the islands - Faroes are just beautiful like that.

Great footage! Where was the shot at 10:49 taken?

Hey, thanks! That photo was taken in the village of Vidareidi, on Vidoy. Unfortunately, I don't have any footage from that island as I only visited it briefly once, so it don't have a video about it, but I still felt like including the shot.

Aleksandrs Mozgovojs Thank you! That's quite far away from the other locations. Did you visit all the northern islands?
@SunsetObsession6 жыл бұрын
No, no really. I haven't really gone past Klaksvik, except this one time when after returning from Kalsoy I had a couple hours till sunset, so I decided to go check Vidareidi.

Do these Islands belong to Denmark?
@SunsetObsession5 жыл бұрын
Yes they do, but they're quite separate too. Faroes have their own currency (although Danish krones are acceptes) and their own language and largely consider themselves as a separate nation. They're also not part of EU interestingly, even though Denmark is.

More effort put into V-logging than capturing the features and landscapes. I'm sure somewhere there is stellar footage, but not much is shown in the video. A scenic waterfall in a cove is shown for a half second at the opening of the video, but never covered in the video, instead...the unmitigated insanity of V-logging.
