I bought an Alvarez ABT 60 Baritone to try it around three years ago , when it arrived I tried it while sitting up on the bed . I mainly use a pick , I don't finger pick at all so while playing the two largest strings was vibrating to much from pick strumming and I was so discouraged and I suddenly got an idea to take the Baritone strings off and I put regular E strings on it , and a star was born . You couldn't give me any other jumbo that sounded any bigger and brighter that this guitar . It is now my regular player even over my Gibson J-185 . Way to go ALVAREZ

Congratulations! I started playing guitar in a serious way in 1968 (ten years old). I'd been playing ukulele for four years at that point. At twelve, I had my first gig. It was an exciting time. One day a friend came over with a new guitar, Alvarez. I had my Gretsch and my Decca. I was jealous. lol

Beautiful Jam 😎🎸🎶 I was born in 1960 The World changed in 1965 We went from black and white tv to color, mono to stereo and everyone wanted an acoustic guitar because of the Beatles, and Folk Rock ☮️

Fingerboard inlays good. Black beautiful.

I usually prefer the look of the inlay at just the 12th fret, but in this case, the diamond inlay was a clever choice. Very nice.

It would have been nice with Brazilian or Madagascar Rosewood and lots of abalone bling to celebrate their 60th. Never tried this make but they look well made. Well done for 60 years in the guitar game. Dean 🇬🇧 🙏 ❤️

Where can I go to find information about an Alvarez from the 1970’s that I acquired a few years ago? I can’t find ANY information on it, and it’s odd. It’s a “made in Japan” classical guitar. I have two other guitars from Alvarez…an MFA77CEARSHB and a Yairi FYM66HD. I love them all. Happy new year, y’all! 🐰🎶🎸✌️ …just a few months ago, I posted a video on my channel of my cover of John Morelands “You Don’t Care For Me Enough To Cry” on my FYM66HD.

Speaking of Alvarez history I've still got a 5-string Alvarez electric bass guitar from the 1990s.

I reckon Alvarez could take over the acoustic guitar world given time.
