Who expects a cat to understand human language?
Still most owners will happily talk to their cat, hoping their message will somehow come across.
On the other hand, cats already know most humans won't be smart enough to understand their subtle non-verbal communication system. That's why they invented the 'meow', which should be easier to grasp for the average human.
Still there is nothing wrong with some explanation of meow-vocabulary of cats, to avoid all misunderstandings.

She wants to feel safe with you in the bathroom. The door is closed and you're there, what could happen to her?

They do that because they kinda want to see your poo. They do that to the other cats they love to check on them if they are healthy (kinda). However, your cat has never seen your poo,but can catch the scent (they have very sensitive noses), so she knows when you're pooping, but cannot check if you're healthy or not. This may be bothersome for us humans, but in all honesty the cat is just curious and worried for the well being of its human.

This nice vid just came up in my feed. Sometimes I still feel sad about Alvi, almost as if he was one of my own cats. Cats' trills, mews, coos, squeaks, squeals and chirrups are solely for our benefit. I find that immensely touching. People who don't care for cats accuse them of indifference. In fact, they learnt a new language just to talk to us.

Thank you! This was actually very helpful. My cat makes a certain sound when she's disappointed or bored. It has s very clear complaining tone. It's very similar to the one you presented as confused or stressed but a bit longer and accompanied by a very sad look on her face.

I just recently found your channel & the gorgeous Alvi & even though I have a house full of critters; I am enamored with him. I have an orange/marmalade moggy named Harry that is very similar to Alvi. He is the most “talkative” of our cats & just a wonderful cat in every aspect. I’ve never met a cat I didn’t love & vice versa (I rehabilitate & foster cats, many are/were feral & turned them into trusting love-bugs which makes it hard to adopt them out & I keep in touch w/ their new families to make sure they are happy & safe) but there’s something about orange kitties that makes my heart swell. It’s great to see your & Alvi’s videos. Give him some extra love for me.😻

Dankjewel! In het asiel was zijn naam Alvin. Omdat we die naam niet 1 op 1 over wilden nemen hebben we de N er vanaf gehaald. Vandaar.
